HOLST + LEE — Local services in Charleston

I rarely leave reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience to help others make informed decisions. I purchased a bracelet from this company for around $100, and while I now understand it’s considered costume jewelry, the quality does not match the price. I’ve had the bracelet for just under two weeks and it is already damaged/showing noticeable wear. For something that expensive, that kind of deterioration is disappointing.

To be fair, the employees I interacted with were absolutely lovely at the Charleston location. They were so friendly and helpful. They did inform me that the jewelry is not scratch-proof or waterproof, which I appreciated knowing upfront. Still, at this price point, you’d expect the jewelry to hold up better with basic, careful use. I didn’t submerge the bracelet in water at any point, didn’t exercise wearing it, and didn’t even sleep wearing it.

What really sealed the negative experience for me, though, was the unprofessional behavior I witnessed on the company’s TikTok account. The way concerns and criticism are handled (or mocked) is completely off-putting and does not reflect well on the brand.

I’m no longer looking for an exchange or resolution. I just want to caution others before spending their hard-earned money on this brand.

I had such an amazing time at Holst + Lee in Charleston! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was fun, creative, and full of good energy. It's such a unique experience getting to create your own charm necklace — definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

What really stood out, though, was how incredible the staff were. Every employee was so friendly and genuinely excited to help us design our pieces. They went above and beyond when my friend had her necklace stolen shortly after our visit. We reached out to the store, and they were incredibly understanding and helpful — working to recreate the original design and get her a replacement. That kind of care and customer service is rare and so appreciated.

If you're in Charleston and looking for something fun and meaningful to do, this is a must-visit spot. We walked away with beautiful keepsakes and great memories. Can’t wait...

UPDATE: The owner reached out and apologized for the experience and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Thank you Natalie, we will definitely give your shop another chance the next time we are in Charleston!

Worst service ever and so glad my mom and I decided to leave to go to another shop. My mom has been wanting a necklace like this and we found them off of tik tok and google so we decided to go here. There were 3 employees there and one other customer and we were never greeted. Then when I asked if there was a Charleston charm the response was just a “No”. I asked where the trays were to build the necklaces and they just pointed and said “over there”.
