John Wesley United Methodist Church — Local services in Charleston

It was my first time to visit this church during my holiday trip to MT. Pleasant - Just got back from 8:30 am service this morning - I was very happy to find this Church on its website. I enjoyed the service and felt home since been awhile not attending church service in person - a couple sat behind me greeted and welcome me and but once the service was over and I walked through the line and was very happy with my turn to shake hand with Pastor Ken and praised him for a nice service but felt so cold. He didn’t say a word - knowing I was the only minority and guest at the service - didn’t get his greeting or a fellowship gesture to welcome and ask who or where I was from - the same cold gesture I received as well from the associate Pastor - even not looked at me and only extend his hand for me to shake his hand - I felt not wanted and not welcome to this church - where is the Christian fellowship of this church to welcome any races ?? This is a fantastic, family-oriented church. It has great programs for children, youth, and adults that are easy to get plugged into.
