Have shopped here four times until finally a review was required. This is a cash/local check only closeout "new" furniture store. Some of the furniture is damaged or discontinued, and prices vary wildly. Some things seems relatively cheap, some things are well over-priced.
From a sales point of view, this place is a total disaster. Avoid like the plague. Yes, they have some nice closeout furniture...however, they will use every "used car salesman" trick in the book to try to extract as much money out of you as possible. Be forewarned: prices and tags are not what they seem, and you will be given the run around. They are not concerned with the customer at all, and you WILL not have a pleasant buying experience.
They will: (1) quote you various prices on objects and sets (depending on whom you speak with); (2) then go see a "manager' (who was probably the person you are speaking with) and return to tell you that the price is actually higher; (3) tell you that individually priced items on the floor must be sold in sets (which also varies from day to day, and salesman to salesman, as well); (4) belittle you if you ask questions, talk over you, and blame their weird "sales" tactics on the Chinese closeout furniture market. To be fair, many of lower level employees are quite pleasant, however...
They have THE sleaziest salesman manning the front desk. Decisions seem to go through him. You'll know him as soon as you seen him...he says nothing of substance, loves to hear himself talk, and, unfortunately, is in managerial position. In our recent (and final) trip here, we ultimately walked out from a $2000 purchase because of this "gentleman". We explained that his set-purchasing requirements didn't make any sense, since objects are individually priced on the floor (they are simply trying to force you to buy more); we explained that in three trips we had been quoted three different prices for the same objects; and the kicker: when we were tired of hearing about how Asian furniture prices dictate their store sales policies, and told him we didn't want to hear any more BS he told us "I am sorry you don't understand English...there's nothing I can do about the Chinese furniture market. You know what? I'm good at what I do, that's why I have a Ferrari and a Maserati."
Sorry, friend, you are not good at what you do. And you are a cancer...
Read moreI have not been in Weeks in years. We bought a couch many many years ago and was very pleased so I thought I would try again. I was approached by a man that never told me his name just asked if he could help or if I wanted to look around. I knew exactly what I wanted so no need to look around. I was looking for 2 real leather recliners for my parents. This is where things got weird. He told me he had no real leather recliners because nobody wanted to buy them. They wanted to by the blended or vinyl ones for $250. I have 2 on hold at Havertys but are very expensive so I thought I would look around before purchasing. He told me that Havertys is horrible and I should read their reviews on leather. He then proceeds to tell me about his expensive cars and how he fixes them up and puts real leather in them and how much he spends. As if I care. I proceed to tell him that I wanted real leather as my father has cancer and his chemo makes his skin dry and irritated so he uses many lotions which have caused the blended/cheap furniture to peel. He proceeds to tell me that all leather will eventually peel/crack. The next part was so hurtful and overwhelming. He then told me that he didn't mean anything by it but would not spend a lot of money on furniture as my father probably will not live long enough before the furniture starts to peel/crack. He then tells me about what Ms. Weeks bought because she is 98. Even went to the effort to show me how the pee pads work in the chair for people with "urine" issues. I am normally not a person that is speechless but I was so hurt that he would say such a thing about my father I just wanted to leave. He follows me out the door telling me about his POS cars and how the furniture industry works and that they are all made by people in China/India and other countries. He did not listen to half of what I was saying and said I should check out Costco or Sams. I did and intend to buy from Sams. I do not care if they had the best leather recliners in the state I would never buy from him/Weeks. I will never be back. What a horrible sales person and human. The store looked liked a cheap overstocked warehouse. Never again. Too bad I cannot...
Read moreIf there was an unlike button on Weeks Furniture FB page I would click it. I called to inquire about a special sale they advertised on Craigslist and what the value of a coupon might be so I asked for the manager. The man that answered the phone asked if he could help - I informed him why I was calling. He said that he could not (should have said would not) tell me I would have to come in to the store. I explained that I was on a budget and wanted to see if I could even afford the item. He said he was not telling me (rather rudely) I had to come in the store- then he hung up on me. So I waited about 20 minutes and called back and of course asked to speak to the manager. This same man said she was busy on the sales floor. Therefore, I said I would call back then he informed me that he was the OWNER. I then let him know that I called earlier and I thought he was rude and that he hung up on me. Right away, he had the same rude attitude and said I was rude. I let him know that I was just trying to find out about the particular item and if I could afford it. He let me know that had I come in the store he would have sold me the item for $200 less. Notice I said he WOULD HAVE sold me the item; he informed me that even if I came in during the sale hours he would not sale me the item. I do not care if you have been in business for over 50 years you do not treat potential customers the way he treated me. He could have handled the whole situation better. You can be sure I will not be purchasing anything from Weeks...
