DO NOT MAKE THIS YOUR NEXT MOVE! I moved into my unit in May although it was not the unit I had waited on. The unit itself is amazing however the beauty of the unit does not make up for the unforeseen headache that awaited. Upon moving in there were two more buildings that needed to be constructed and although parking was plentiful many of the residents were already parking in the rear of this complex. It was evident that once the final two building were constructed parking was going to become a major issue and I was right. When I inquired about residents having at least one assigned parking space I was told there were not enough spaces per unit. As the developers realized the parking would not be adequate the remaining parking spaces were converted into compact car parking spaces. Now about 40% of the parking spaces are for compact cars. This is a major issue as many times the cars are so close in proximity that dinging the car doors of others and vice versa is inevitable which leads to double parking. Who could blame anyone for doing that as no one wants the vehicle they pay for all scratched up. The real kicker is there are only 10 yes 10 visitor parking spaces which is absurd. Those spaces are located in the rear of the complex first come first serve. So in the event those spaces are taken your visitors are forced to find parking as close to the complex as possible. During the week of Thanksgiving I paid to have two boots removed. One was off my car because I was parked in a space conveniently set aside for electric vehicles. The other boot was placed on the car of relatives that were visiting from NY for Thanksgiviing. When my son visited recently he was forced to park at a nearby restaurant then walk approximately five minutes to my complex. Suffice it to say I'm livid at the thought of living in an environment where so little consideration has been given to residents and their guests. Never in a million years would I have thought to make certain there would be adequate parking. This complex is for people whom have no friends or family that visit. It makes me feel confined to my unit as I'm always concerned about leaving then returning to no available parking spaces. I oftentimes work beyond midnight only to walk through dark parking lots just to get to my unit located at the front of the complex. The developers are very inconsiderate people whom did not think through resident let alone visitor parking for this place. I guess all is well seeing as they do not have to reside here. Due to this major inconvenience I can only give this place one lease term. It's horrible having to time everything you do for the sake of having available parking upon your return. Horrible. Although this issue is not the fault of Leasing Agents it does not help that many take on a very "Oh well" attitude at the mention of parking issues. There again people have the tendency not to show concern when issues do not directly affect them. Hope This...
Read moreMy experience with The Griff was an absolute paradise as compared to other complexes I've had to work with. As a displaced individual due to my home being under construction and having to seek specialty physicians in Charlotte, North Carolina, I wanted to ensure the dwelling I was applying for exceeded my expectations and was a completely different process of what I was used to. The Application Process - COVID did not hinder the staff of The Griff from an expedited processing of my information. From the submission of the required documents to the notification of approval, the process was a seamless turnaround even working with my military documents that sometimes cause a delay due the nature of not many businesses working with military retirement pay. The Day of Receiving the Key - Upon receipt of the keys as well as meeting the staff, the atmosphere was serene and inviting. Jadah, the young lady my son and I had been working with, was as pleasant and professional in person as she was on the phone. She definitely represents the organization at its best. This is also extended to the young lady Madison who ensured that any requests that were needed would be promptly addressed. I truly appreciated the patience with me as I am extremely skeptical from my previous dealings with apartment complexes. Current Living Experience - My son has had to walk me through a great deal of the online portal information but it has been very easy. Registering my vehicles was a very easy process and the parking spaces have ample clearing on each side especially for my SUV. Door dingers and I are NOT the best of friends. My son has also shown me the neighbors portion of the portal and various events to share with each neighbor. As I am in Charlotte about 2 weeks of each month, my time that I've spent in the apartment has had me wondering if I have neighbors. I never really hear them expect watching them pass my absolutely beautiful corner apartment with high ceilings. While I am only 5'-6", the ceilings make me feel as if I am half that height! In previous complexes I've lived, the maintenance staff walked around during the day as if they were at a last resort setting. I've watched the maintenance staff of The Griff and they were an absolute delight to be assisting other neighbors. They were professional in appearance and cordial in greetings. Overall, I am very pleased! My son is seeking to move into the complex as he has been as impressed as I am. Thank you to the faculty and staff of The Griff and keep setting the standard of what luxury apartment homes are supposed to...
Read moreWhile this place was partially enjoyable to stay at, mostly because of the quietness of the area and Linda in the front office being kind & always at our rescue…we had a few hitches in the road that made us NOT want to renew. When we first moved in, our dryer didn’t have a clean vent which resulted in moisture building up in our laundry room and our clothes not being dried. Which if not requested to be fixed so early on in our lease, it would have resulted in mold. We had a hiccup paying for rent because of an app malfunction & accidentally tried to pay rent 3x, which resulted in 2 fees of $50 because of over drafting. They did not accommodate us on these charges even though it was an app glitch. They didn’t enforce noise complaints. I’d recommend living on the top floor if you don’t wanna hear noises all through your day & night. Our upstairs neighbors could be heard yelling, furniture moving constantly, feet stomping, dogs running & playing with hard toys. So if you’re lucky enough to live above someone, just know they can hear every single thing going on in your place. Although there’s a way to call for emergency maintenance after hours, they don’t treat requests as an emergency. Our fire alarm batteries got low & would do a high pitched ring every 15secs. Even though we called & put in a request, it took maintenance 2 days to get to us. Yes, we had to sleep with this. When our bathtub wouldn’t drain, maintenance put the hair they pulled out..into our toilet drain?? Instead of the trashcan right beside the toilet. Also whatever chemical they put down the drain stunk up our entire apartment, to which they advised us to open our door & windows & left. It gave both my partner & I a terrible headache. Parking is absolutely terrible! Most of the people living here work a 9-3 job, by 3pm, ALL of the regular parking spaces are full while there is 60-80 compact parking spaces, to which if you double park, you WILL get booted & pay $120-180. There is also 8-10 visitor parking spots for the entire complex. It’s now been 3 months since we moved out & we have also not received our security deposit refund check to which i’ve tried to contact the office about & the property manager has not responded. This place is beautiful & the neighbors are kind, the area itself is quiet but with as much that went wrong in our 15month lease, we didn’t find that as enough of a...
