Safire at Matthews Apartments — Local services in Charlotte

Please do not move to the property . It’s not worth the time and money . Please invest in a better property. Property staff changes frequently due to incompetent property manager . Please beware of property. Pest control and property grounds are not kept up to par. Trash lingers for weeks , with no disposable pick up . Apartments are infested with roaches . My apartment in particular had a very bad roach problem , in which pest control never adequately addressed . But the mouse problem took the cake , my apartment also had an mice problem on top of roaches. You would think for the highly rent amount for the apartment this wouldn’t be an issue . But like I stated previously the grounds are not kept up to par. I never in my life had an experience living roaches and mice until I moved to Safire at Matthews . The property manager an staff are not even empathetic . They expect you still live and cope living with mice and roaches as if it is acceptable . Took maintenance weeks to come address the mouse problem . I paid rent for an apartment I never stayed out because I noticed the lack of sensitivity and effort of staff to address the issue knowing I have a small child . I immediately stopped living in the unit .The property manager and staff , Including maintenance will do the bare minimal which is the least cost effective to address mice and roaches problems within the units. The property manager and staff at Safire have no morals and values about themselves. In life you should always think about putting yourself in someone else shoes and think how would you want to be treated or handled in certain situation . The lack of empathy shown towards me and small family , is truly disgusting on behalf of Safire team. Also Ms. Catherine Rogers post is so transparent and the same situation happened to me and my small family a few months ago the end of a May to be exact. So please be aware , if you do decide to lease please check under your stoves and refrigerators to check for any previous mouse traps . My dad found old mouse traps that was laid down by maintenance from previous tenants behind my fridge and underneath the stove after I moved out . So property manager and staff knows units have mouse and roach problem but will keep denying . Sorry for the long paragraph, but take the time to read . Charlotte is very expensive place to live , but don’t waste your hard earn money with this property. Also , all the leasing representatives are new they haven’t been there that long , so they will lie to you about the property’s . Since I moved to the apartment in January the turnover rate for staff in the office is sad . It’s always new people working , and they don’t know much about nothing . So please be mindful they will lie to you about any problem within the units on this property . These units have all types of problems but your main concern would be the roaches and mice . Don’t let the gated community and large family pool fool you and your family . Stay away from this property unless you ready to be fighting...

Worst customer service I’ve seen in my whole entire life. My unit is actually experiencing a CODE VIOLATION via the ceiling creeking loudly with every move the person above me makes. These insensitive staff members have ignored my complaints about this for the majority of my lease and they are lucky I am moving out or I would have reported them to the appropriate people because now it’s too late that I know what to do since the staff at the place I’m moving to told me this is a code violation and it’s the staff’s responsibility to fix this. I HAVE NO PEACE HERE. I cannot pray, sleep, or meditate without interruption. Because of this I am more irritable throughout the day and sleep deprived. So whoever moves to my unit next will have to deal with this too since these people clearly don’t value their tenants living experience. :) PITIFUL customer service, any other person I’ve talked to has said their apartment staff simply moved them to a new/better unit without any extra cost because any decent staff will take accountability and fix something wrong with the unit that isn’t the tenants fault right away(DUH). I don’t feel valued as a tenant and it’s very clear they only care about moving you in and taking your money. This place isn’t worth $800 let alone the new inflation rent which is now over $1,000, please save your money. The appearance of the exterior isn’t well kept like most apartments either. The place is infested with spiders on the exterior of course and they even end up in our cars. They never answer the phone, only emails. There are always sketchy random charges that pop up on your account without any explanation(I’ve asked about it and gotten no response). Dasmen will comment under this saying to email them and they don’t even answer their phone or emails either(they clearly comment on reviews to look like they care when they really don’t). These people are greedy and just don’t do their job. Im so relieved to be leaving this place soon. I don’t even care about my deposit at this point, i just want to get the heck out of here so when I leave they can keep it since money is all...

EDIT** THIS PLACE ONLY WANTS MONEY. It’s a business so of course BUT when you take advantage of residents for your overall bottom line and refuse to SEE them as people. That’s a problem. THEY RAISE THE RENT ON EXISTING TENANTS SO HIGH by $200 two-hundred dollars which is RENT GOUGING. Such an IMMORAL TERRIBLE COMPANY with leasing agents who have no integrity or customer service skills. LOOK AT THE APARTMENTS NEAR THEM BUT DO NOT COME HERE or onto any DASMEAN property. They have had class action lawsuits because they refuse to put in work, investigators due to their complaints, LOOK THEM UP! They got rid of our security, the gate doesn’t work, they moved crackheads in, and unless you’re desperate just to have roof over your head but, if you can. Look into MATTHEWS, there’s complexes that are CLEAN, better staff, and cheaper. Trust me, you can do BETTER than this.

The positive reviews are written by the staff. Believe the bad ones. No one lives here or who ever lived here like this complex. This apartment complex is the worst place I ever lived. The leasing agents are tone deaf, they ignore their residents complaints, their “corporate” office is considered slum lords in other states so they do the bare minimum here. The apartments are dirty, bug infested because they are too cheap for a real pest control company. They do the bare minimum and tether the line to get by. You have to call them multiple times for hours to get an answer or you want get one at all. No resident likes to interact with the office because it’s always an excuse, they treat us like numbers and not people. If you don’t have to move here, don’t and they have lots of bugs and you’ll probably move into a dirty apartment with old paint and mold in your toilet. The neighbors are also very “sketchy” as again, they don’t care about safety just money. The cops are always here ever since Dasmen took over. DO NOT MOVE HERE if you can go else where.
