Salon 1226/ Established Hair Studio — Local services in Charlotte

Deleted my review on Yelp to post it on here instead. Apparently the owner personally reaches out to nearly every bad review, sometimes aggressively, in hopes they'll take down the bad ones.

Here's the review I left:

A former customer left a bad review for the services she got and this company threatened to 1) press charges for slander and 2) "call the police." He had also, to my knowledge, threatened the former customer that she would "not be allowed to set foot in the store unless she took down the review."

This is from a manager named "Edward." Edward, again, threatened to press charges against a woman for a bad review. Shocked at the amazing unprofessionalism and complete lack of ability to conduct himself. I don't care how much you dislike a review someone leaves of your company- if you run a business, it happens- you don't just get to threaten women like that.

I honestly should have recorded the call. That was the most aggressive, threatening, disrespectful phone calls I've ever had in my life with a business. All I asked was that they "find a way to rectify this," and that I would obviously be leaving a review.

Abhorrent behavior, and unfitting of any Charlotte establishment. Shocked.

This reeks of someone who had money, decided to open a salon, and just cannot handle the occasional bad review. The fact that he'd lash out like this is below the minimum for how an adult conducts themselves. Threatening a woman for leaving a bad...

I really debated on whether or not to write this review. I’m a few hours after my haircut and I’m still as disappointed as when I left. I kept convincing myself that I might like it more later but I can’t accept what I’ve received for what I paid.

I showed my stylist a photo and described what I wanted, just to essentially get a trim. I wanted a completely different hairstyle and even heard her say, “yeah I was just going to follow your last cut.” Unfortunately I thought she meant just at first, but as time went by, no more hair was cut. I figured maybe it’ll get styled and then she’ll do more? No. I had to ask her to cut thicker bangs, and that barely happened too. My hair looks almost the same as when I walked in, when I took time off to get a different hairstyle. I’m usually very satisfied with this salon, but I’m not returning again.

I feel bad leaving a negative review, and it’s awkward to sit in a chair and feel like your stylist barely did anything. I don't like getting my haircut and I tend to not trust hair stylists much (I usually cut my own hair). HOWEVER, I'm trying to take better care of it and it was getting scraggly and and unhappy. This salon had good reviews and is close to my home, so I booked an appointment - fingers crossed.

When I sat down in Ashley's chair, she immediately made me feel comfortable. Usually hair stylists want to cut all my hair off (my split ends get crazy) but she was so sensitive to my fear of having it cut too short. Asked me numerous times before she cut if it was a good length and if I was happy. She cut it a little longer before the wash just to be safe and was communicative through the whole process. Plus she was great fun to talk to and I had a great time. And my hair looks great! It's shorter than I had expected to go but it looks so happy and healthy and that's truly what I wanted.

I've never had a go-to hair stylist, but I think I've found the one! Thank you, Ashley, for making me feel beautiful and being so kind. HIGHLY recommend...
