Well Done African Hair Braiding — Local services in Charlotte

After reading several google reviews. I decided to schedule an appointment at this location because my normal braided was booked. My appointment was scheduled for 9:00AM; however the braider did not arrive until 9:42. At the time of my scheduling I advised her I would like small knotless braids and asked how much that would cost. She advised me &180 and up but that’s based on the length. To begin, I arrived at my appointment and she was not there. Her sister convinced me to stay and she would begin on my braids. After showing me a braid before she fully began braiding my hair I asked again the cost. I was then told $280. After some time the person who is supposed to braid my hair arrives and she tells me it’s $180 and up based on the length. One the length I was getting was not extra long. I would say it was normal length -just at below my bra line. She tells me the cost again is based on the length. I explained to her I specifically asked about small braids so if small braids are $280 why not just tell me that on the phone verses saying &180 and up. She had no answer. I've been here a few times. The owner and her staff are pretty good. They do a really good job with basic styles pixie braids, regular box braids, corn rows, ect. There is minimal pain after braiding which is a huge plus. They will not pull your edges out. One of the ladies is less experienced. I've found that after she's done my jumbo box braids that the braids were not even and not consistent. This has only happened once. If you schedule with the owner their are no issues and there is always a learning curve so I'm confident the young lady will get better. I've given them a oictppi of what I've wanted before. It never looks just like the picture. Their prices are very competitive. Overall, I think this is a good shop where you're natural hair can remain healthy...

PROS: This a very nice and clean shop compared to a lot of other braiding salons. The owner and other employees were very friendly and accommodating. I can say they actually like to communicate with the customers and care about your hair. They were fast and I was in and out.

CONS: Prior to me sitting in the chair, I discussed what size box braids I wanted and they did them smaller than what I asked for. The braids in my hair are uneven in size and some are lumpy due to them adding extra hair in to continue the braid. I think the braiders need more experience because I've had better.
