7:30 AM Sunday Mass was non-inspirational. Speaker System did more harm than good, the equalizer settings seem to minimize higher pitches needed for clear annunciation. I don't know who would want to become catholic based on this mass. A homily of maybe 3 minutes made me feel short-changed, the Gospel and Epistles can't be explained to any depth. There was no music, which is a shame. Knowing the words to the consecration didn't help with deciphering the inaudible prayers. I could hear the lector with no mic better than the priest and deacon with a mic. Read moreI visit Charlotte often to see family and St. Thomas is frequently where I attend Mass when I am in town. I love the traditional and very reverent worship there. It is beautiful and sacred. The homilies when I have attended have been thoughtful and loving, but have also truly challenged me as a follower of Christ. Perhaps because the parish is near a campus, there is a beautiful ethnic diversity present at each Mass either in the pews or in service to the priests.
