I have been Best Buy customer for many years (last two smartphones, tablet, desktop PC) but that has come to an end because of their recent conduct. Recently my brother and I went to the store to buy one of the last TouchPads for $99 (they were discontinued), we arrived first on a Saturday morning over 30 minutes prior to the store opening (there was a line of others waiting to buy the same discounted TouchPad stock). After opening we went directly to the Tablet section and were about to purchase one when a manager actually took the stock away and said they were not selling it and were going to return stock to HP. At this point we had come to BestBuy (we normally buy our electronics there) despite the fact that there were plenty of the aforementioned TouchPads at a WalMart 10 minutes away (and they WERE selling them), because we were already first in line at BestBuy we assumed this would guarantee our ability to get one of them there. After a protracted back and forth with store employees a manager came out and quite bluntly said they were not selling them and that his answer wasn't going to change before walking away. The manager wasn't interested in taking our names, or even referring us to customer support and acted quite flippantly about the whole situation. Come to find out later that day BestBuy reversed course and began to sell the tablets. We returned the next morning, again a line had formed. Unlike the previous morning (when no store staff came out to offer guidance) a staffer came out to announce there were just 3 TouchPads in stock. Being 5th inline we were obviously not going to get one (as the 4 in front of us were there for the same thing). Needless to say after calling customer support and speaking to the store manger about the situation I was told they could do and would do nothing about the situation, they advised they had no way to deliver a unit to me, nor would they offer anything of a compensatory nature on other products. I was pretty much told "too bad" and that they didn't care if they lost my business as there was nothing they could (or more accurately would) do. I won't be shopping at this or any other BestBuy ever again, go to HHGregg, WalMart, or any of the numerous online stores for better prices, and more importantly...
Read moreI am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I received at your Charlotteville location on Friday. I went to the store with the intention of price matching a MacBook Pro that I had found on sale at MicroCenter, where there was a significant price difference of $800.
When I approached the cashier, they confirmed that the exact product was eligible for a price match, and they verified that MicroCenter was on the list of companies for price matching. The cashier proceeded to submit the request to the manager for approval, and everything seemed to be in order at first. However, the situation quickly became frustrating.
The cashier initially informed me that the system did not approve the price match because it flagged the transaction as potentially fraudulent. I provided a link to the MicroCenter listing to demonstrate the legitimacy of the offer. Despite this, the cashier requested that a manager get involved.
After waiting 10 minutes for the manager, who was moving at a notably slow pace, he finally arrived. His approach was unprofessional and lacked any form of customer service skills. Rather than addressing the issue promptly, the manager listed several reasons for not honoring the price match. First, he claimed that the system thought it was a scam. Then, he stated that Apple doesn't allow Best Buy to sell the product at that price. Lastly, he mentioned technical issues with the system.
I requested that the manager attempt to process the price match in front of me, and the system successfully processed the price match, bringing the price down to the expected amount. Despite this, the manager refused to honor the price match, citing the large price difference as a reason for his refusal.
Best Buy promotes itself as a company that offers price matching, but in my experience, this was not the case. The reasoning provided by the manager, including the argument that Apple does not allow Best Buy to sell the product at this price, was unconvincing and seemed like an excuse to avoid honoring the price match.
I am disappointed by the lack of customer service and transparency I received during this process. I expect a company like Best Buy to uphold its advertised policies and ensure that customers are...
Read moreOne of the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. My baby brother wanted the Xbox series s for his birthday I found one online available for same day in store pick up at a Best Buy approx. 35 minutes away. It was showing they had 1 left in stock and would be ready to pick up in an hour. I placed the order and as soon as my order was placed it said it would be ready for pick up on September 4th! 8 days!! Although my order summary before hitting purchase said it would be ready today 8-27-21 in an hour and would be held until September 1st. I then called the store to figure why an order i placed for pick up today was now saying I had to wait 8 days. The lady I spoke with said the website is misleading we don’t have the consoles in store they have to be shipped to us. That is way more than misleading! I told her this is not my local Best Buy location and I only purchased at this location because it said I could pick up today. She told me she would go ahead and cancel my order because they did not have it available for pick up today. I then decided to just order it online to have delivered to my house on 8-31-31 instead of waiting until September 8th to get at my local store. Once I placed the order online I got a confirmation text for my order, then a minute later I got another text saying that my order was canceled. I called customer service to figure out why my order was canceled. I spent an hour on the phone all to be told that my order was canceled because the system showed that i had placed the minimum order for the item as only 1 can be purchased. Even though the first order was canceled because they falsely advertised when it would be available. I was told they couldn’t do anything about it even though it showed on their end that the first order was canceled. It’s okay because after my experience with best buy (worst buy) I couldn’t be more happy to give my money to...
