The coffee here is very good. If you order a large it comes with four shots of espresso. The flavor of the coffee is delicious and bold. The food here is also very good. We got the avocado toast which comes with feta cheese which makes it savory and delicious. We also got the fifeville hot sandwich which was delicious as well with avocado and bacon. The egg and cheese sandwich was okay.

2nd visit: Wow this place is absolutely cute! The food is so good and the pastry and coffee are all absolutely delicious. The coffee is bold and rich. They serve their coffee with a small piece of pastry called canales. They serve breakfast and lunch sandwiches here as well as freshly baked pastries and cookies.

We like the avocado toast and the fifeville sandwich. It's a juicy smoked turkey sandwich with avocado bacon tomato, etc. Must I say more.

My favorite is the Apple puff pastry. It is delicious and crunchy. I assume all other pastries are just as delicious here. You can't go wrong getting anything at this cute coffee shop. Service is good. If you are in Charlottesville, you should visit this place for great coffee and...

If you have been following Rock Solid Review, then you know I visited this gem little French bakery and restaurant in Charlottesville, Virginia, @mariebettecafe. I couldn't say enough nice things about it. So my decision to review their smaller location (@petitemariebette) in downtown Charlottesville is just an extension of that review. I ordered a bacon, egg, cheese on a croissant, and split a key lime Brioche Feuillettée. Both of these items will excite your tastebuds. However, I don't know where your life goals are at this point, but experiencing a Brioche Feuillettée should be a top priority on your list. The Brioche Feuillettée is the perfect breakfast treat. It's a little sweet, delicately light, perfectly flakey, appropriately buttery, savory goodness that melts in your mouth. It is a little luxury that makes life worth living. It is not crude and demoralizing like that of the donut. Nor is it anticlimactic like syrup-drenched waffle. It is not a dessert nor a meal. It is the perfect ending to a wonderful beginning. Unfortunately, my experience yesterday was very disappointing. I ordered the North Garden sandwich to go. Wish I had taken a photo before I ate it.....in 3 about bites! The picture online looks like you can barely open your mouth wide enough to take the first bite. MY North Garden looked like a tiny, flat slider at best! I had made no modifications to the ingredients in the sandwich. There was no aioli nor bleu cheese on the sandwich and the lettuce (a small 1/4 size torn piece of a romaine leaf) was translucent like it had been put on the sandwich while the portabella was still hot, so the lettuce had "melted" onto the mushroom and had no crunch. I work on the Downtown Mall and frequent Marie Bette often - never have I had such a sad looking dish! I would expect better for an almost $10 sandwich and will not order the North...
