Well worth the visit! For years we've been told of this place and we finally went. Parking is limited but because many folks come and go you will get a spot eventually. We went around noon and easily parked. I can see how this can be a barrier but just got to be patient. This is handicap accessible. You park and walk down a flight of stairs and once at ground level you take a flight of stairs up to observation deck. It was beautiful view of the bay full of boats and seals. The seals are adorable. We spent a pier 45 minutes watching boats unload fish and seals and seagulls waiting for snacks. The fish market looked like it offered more then the usual clam shack. All of it is fresh. If more folks in the party enjoyed seafood I would have stopped to pick up dinner. It's a crowd favorite watching the seals lazily swim around the boats and staring up at people. If you wanted lunch you could spend a little more time here.it looked like a pleasant place to enjoy a fresh catch while taking in the view....

There is an observation deck above the unloading area, which offers a great view of the area. Bring binoculars, or use the pay binoculars (25 cents for a couple minutes) mounted on the observation deck for a better view.
There is a fish shop right next to the pier, which sells both fresh fish and...
Read moreWe visited this afternoon. The pier is under construction, and apparently is supposed to be closed to visitors until construction is complete. However, so many visitors were showing up anyways that a couple officials were directing traffic and allowing visitors over to a limited area by the Fish Market. We watched a fishing boat come in and unload some lobster cargo. The Market sold a few staples (ice cream, bread, prepared sea food). It was very hot and there wasn’t much space or shade (particularly since the area they let visitors into was so limited), but it was still fun and we were glad we visited. There were restrooms and a water fountain by the upper...
