The Impudent Oyster has been serving up fresh seafood in Chatham MA for over 50 years and is quite possibly one of THE BEST restaurants on Cale Cod. The building is a former church as can be noted by the stained glass windows and the bench seating reminiscent of church pews. The menu is ever changing and DELICIOUS! Do yourself a favor and grab a Sweet N Salty for dessert. It’s a homemade gooey brownie doused with sea salt, homemade caramel sauce, and chocolate covered pretzels. The sweet and salt flavors are unmatched! 📍Impudent Oyster 15 Chatham Bars Ave Chatham, MA 02633 #capecod #thingstodocapecod #capecodrestaurants #capecodfood #letseat

Wow! This place was amazing! Didn't have a reservation but was able to get bar seating for two after a short, five minute wait on a Saturday night during the summer around 7pm, though I saw others waiting longer after I was seated. Ordered off the original and specials menu. From the original menu - Bacon wrapped scallops: amazing! The bacon provides a nice texture contrast to the perfectly cooked scallop. You get five pieces sat open some toast and covered in a nice light white sauce. MUST ORDER! Meatball appetizer: soft and tender, not too much of a bite but perfectly seasoned and very tasty! If you're looking for something other than seafood, give this a try! Blackened halibut: super yums! It sits upon cheesy grits, which is a perfect companion to this moist and succulent fish. I honestly wasnt even thinking about getting this dish, but the bartender recommended it and I'm sure glad he did! Highly recommend Specials menu - Peach and pomegranate sangria: I could drink gallons of this delectable nectar. Perhaps a touch sweet, but I found this very drinkable and without the usual bitter notes from most other sangrias. Dave's third day: okay I'm not sure what the name of this drink is (I think it's someone else's name) but it has multiple vodkas with fresh pressed watermelon and lime juice. Honestly, pass this one, this drink did not hit and represented the only thing that I did not care for. I thought it would be refreshing but it was so bitter, maybe I just didn't understand what they were going for. Seafood carbonara: scallops, shrimp, lobster, pancetta in a cream sauce with noodles. Perfection! Maybe a bit less enjoyable by the end of the meal as you fill up, but those first bites are phenomenal! The bar area was very dark, but definitely set the vibes so I'm not knocking it. If you can get a reservation, all the better. This is definitely somewhere I'm recommending to anyone visiting Chatham or Lower Cape. As an aside, I heard the oysters Sydney are super good, I can't remember what's on them but people were impressed!

SUPERB restaurant with gracious and professional service, outstanding food and real value. Reservation was honored on time and the food was among the best on the Cape. The Bouillabaisse was so delicious and so generous, I had to take a picture. Among the best meals this year. October 2023 follow up. This is our third visit in 3 years, and the place is still outstanding, but I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. Three things made the visit slightly less than ideal than in the past. The waitress served our drinks by holding the glasses from the top, with each of her fingers around the rim (not too hygienic). The ceviche appetizer, despite being told it was not "that spicy," was almost uneatable, because of its spiciness. The bathrooms are in need of help (broken paper towel holder, no soap in dispenser and looking like a bathroom in a public building). The rest of the experience is top notch, but those items did not meet expectations. June 2024 - This restaurant continues to be the BEST one on the Cape. The food is generous and the quality and taste are just superb. I'd call their Bouillabaisse an "ode to seafood!" Service is willing and professional.

An delightful restaurant tucked inside an old church which was charming. Everything about this dining experience was perfect. I called a few weeks in advance to book a table for Father's Day. There were two options available: 5:15 or 8:30. I took the earlier seating that was available. Our waitress Melinda was wonderful. She was friendly and gave us outstanding service. Our food was simply delicious. The bread was warm with a savory rye flavor to it. I'm not a bread person but we couldn't stop eating it! The appetizer Oyster Rockefeller has such rich, delicious flavors, with a touch of lobster on top. I enjoyed the swordfish Rivera while my husband devoured each morsel in the Pesca Fra Diablo. Both meals were full of flavor and a good size portion. We passed on having dessert as unfortunately there wasn't anything that interested us. That part of the menu seemed to be lacking in comparison to the rest of the menu. The restaurant was very busy and all seats at the bar were taken. It's a place you definitely need to try... But remember to make a...
