If I could give no stars at all I would! I visited this location today (the Eastgate Campus) to inquire about changing my program over from the one I am currently enrolled in now which I attend at the Northgate location. Any other time I have dealt with the staff at this Eastgate location, it was always pleasant and they were always super helpful until today. I had a visit with Sidney in Financial Aid and she was helping me redo everything so that I could get started with my new program and once we got everything squared away, she sent me into the office of an older man who was already very obnoxious from the beginning. He acted as if he had a problem with me the moment he laid eyes on me and I knew instantly that everything was about to go into left field. I introduced myself with a smile and his first words to me were “Why should I let you switch?” “Why should I allow you to keep attending classes here?!” I was instantly taken aback and before I could even get a word in, he instantly starts speaking about the money I “owed” them which I didn’t owe them anything. Payment for the program was due on yesterday but there was no point in putting any payment toward a program I was switching over from anyway and the staff at the campus where I actually attend classes were completely understanding of that. I explained that I’ll happily pay whatever I needed to get started with my new program and that making a payment wasn’t an issue at all to me but he continued to be rude, and belligerent and continued to belittle and disrespect me and so I finally asked if I could speak to someone else because I preferred not to continue with him and he yelled “No, because I’m the owner, now back to what I was saying” then I stopped him immediately and told him to not even worry about it because I will never attend a school where the OWNER treats prospective and current students this way. He proceeded to rip up my financial aid papers up and threw them in my face and told me to get out and called me trash and disgusting and I told him he’s terrible at his job and should not be in the position he’s in and left. I am saddened because I really liked the school and would have loved to continue attending but never while a racist pig is...
Read moreI don’t even know where to start, this has been the worst school experience I have had. The staff is completely unprofessional starting with Kristi Thomason. She demands respect but doesn’t give it whatsoever to the students. You expected to constantly change your schedule and expectations on what the school wants. You will receive messages all throughout the day and night about unexpected and unrealistic deadlines set by the school. The instructors and employees are not held to a professional standard whatsoever. Professors are allowed to speak to students however they want. An entire class deemed disrespectful because we don’t accept last minute notifications of things due or we question a school process. Never mind most of my class doesn’t feel prepared at all to be in a clinical setting. When concerns about educational Standards are brought up we are told be quiet and study harder because it’s clearly our fault and not the instructors. You start school going Monday through Thursday and they slowly incorporate Friday, Saturday and Sunday without and warning or explanation. The instructors do not care about the students just about their paycheck and they remind constantly that they could be doing better things with their time than teaching you. It’s not a religious school but religion is incorporated at every level turn. If you want a lack of communication, poor education and to waste thousands of dollars and students loans this is the place for you. I recommend going to chatt state at least you’ll save a...
Read moreI went for the Practical Nursing program and it was one of the best decisions I could have ever made. Was it easy, NO!!! Is it worth it, YES!!! You get out what you put in!! They are upfront with you before you apply to the program and if you don’t have the motivation or attention to put into it then don’t waste your time or theirs. They are very accommodating to life events because they understand some things are just simply out of our control. The Director of the program and the main nursing instructor are very knowledgeable with over a decade of experience in the profession. There are many opportunities to gain hands on experience, in the skills lab, before attending clinical. Rest assured they will not just throw you to the wolves. They will instill in you the need to practice and the benefits of it as well as maintaining professionalism. Be on time, be prepared, be willing to learn, obtain a strict study schedule with time management skills, and be able to accept constructive criticism and you too will be able to succeed. I walked in, January 7, 2020 as a CNA and walked out, December 18, 2020, as a nurse graduate with a job offer. Now I am officially a Licensed Practical Nurse. If you’re looking for a program that doesn’t require two-three years of pre-requisites along with a $100 entrance exam fee, then the PN program at Chattanooga College should definitely be your...
