While the food is excellent and the restaurant is very inviting, I have to be honest with you and tell you about a near preposterous experience with the so-called “manager” tonight. I called to order $100 worth of food for take-out. A relatively large order. Food was ready for pickup within 20 minutes, a great feat. Arrived with my son and after paying asked the gentleman “manager” for lemon and a few peppers. He refused and said that I have to pay him extra for a lemon! He said that if we were eating there then he wouldn’t charge but since this is a takeout order, it will cost extra. As I attempted to explain to him that a lemon and a couple of peppers with a $100 order shouldn’t be a problem, obviously, he was adamant and became insulting. He then looked at us, gestured with his hand in a dismissive fashion and told us to pick the food and get out! Literally. Even my son, a 20 year old young man couldn’t believe this atrocious behavior. I told him thank you, in Spanish, and we left. This in my opinion is an example of how a good business can be run down by an unscrupulous employee. Even if the owner, a well respected lady, Instructed the manager to charge for a lemon, a decent and polite manager should have handled the customer with an apologetic attitude and gracious manners and not insult a well-intentioned customer. Ok I read all the reviews and I have to say I was not disappointed. The salsa is chunkier than normal fare but seasoned nicely. The food. Well it was hard to get pictures because we kept eating the plates...lol Wilson was our server and as previously reviewed he was fast efficient friendly and attentive. Our lunch was out in mere minutes in fact I had not even had time to really enjoy the chips and salsa. We each had a speedy Gonzales lunch so we had a taco hard shell which was very good just the right amount of everything. And an enchilada. The enchilada was full and not small or second rate. The red sauce split us a bit. It had a bit of a A-1 steak sauce bite to it. I could not discern if it was vinegar or something else and while it was not to my taste my co worker literally raved about it. I had beans with mine she had rice. The beans were cooked down and the way I love them. Literally scraped the plate clean. Co worker had rice it was a little el dente. But she mixed in some queso and had some cheesy rice and liked that. Firmer rice works when adding liquid cheese sauce to it in my opinion. Came here on Friday night at 7pm. Seated promptly and then began to order shortly after that. Server was annoyed and frustrated at every additional item I had ordered(2 a la cart items). I’m not picky and our order was not complicated but you’d have though I asked him to cook the food himself. Every item that hit our table was incorrectly prepared and at least one dish wasn’t ever ours( they took it back after 5 minutes, and I suspect to the the correct table, eww). One dish we ordered did not arrive at all. When we asked about it, they asked if we wanted another, just to tell them that we never received it…to make matters worse they inspected the remnants of our empty plates to ensure we were not lying about this missing 2.75 item(tostada). Waiting over twenty minutes for the check after finishing our meal and finally leaving. I wasn’t sure if we being puked, but after I paid, addressed the service issues with the manager and was me with an “Oh sorry bout that, have a good night”, I knew it was real.The taste of the food was good but it’s a no for me.
