Colony 13 — Local services in Chattanooga

We have been steady loyal customers of Colony 13 at the Northgate Mall since moving to Chattanooga more than 35 years ago. We have moved 3 times since moving here and so has Colony 13. Colony 13 has always been located at the Northgate Mall.

The shop is run by the most wonderful family. They are in my mind Colony 13. They have always been friendly and dedicated to their customers and community.

The store has gotten better with each move. The products they offer are varied and personal. We shop here for gifts for special occasions, home, birthdays, gifts, and the holidays. The items are always personal and hold special meaning.

The first purchase that I made here was a weather vane. I loved it then and still love it today. The weather vane is proudly displayed in my home.

We have purchased figurines with special meaning for our home, friends, and family. I have purchased Pandora jewelry for my wife and daughter. Pandora makes charms for every occasion and event. My wife has charms for every occasion and loves to wear them. My wife is a fan of Vera Bradley and the Bass family always helps me pick out patterns that my wife will love. Gift shopping is easy as they have everything in this store. I have purchased t-shirts with special meaning for every member of my family. It is like the t-shirt was specially designed for them.

My daughter and I absolutely love this store. The young lady that took care of me was extremely nice and helpful. The only problem that made us both extremely uncomfortable was two other workers that stared and watched us as we waited for the item I purchased to be finished being engraved. I walked around a bit and came back to where my daughter was at and we just waited then in the one spot. These two ladies watched and whispered about us like they thought we were stealing something. One of them came back to the area where we were when I paid for my products, with the young lady that had been taking care of me, the other lady grabbed my purchase very vigorously and put it on the back counter and walked off. The young lady and I just looked at each other and proceeded. She bagged my things and I turned to leave. As I got to the front door where the other lady was I asked do you need to see my receipt. She replied oh no it’s ok. I thought there’s no telling how much could had been carried off cause they were so busy just staring at us waiting for our product...

Colony 13 is always my go to store for special and unique gifts for others and for myself. Over the years, I have been a fan of Pandora, Swarovski, Nora Fleming, Vera Bradley, Brighton, and more. Everything in the store is attractively displayed, and the owners, Rodney, Susan, and Jeff, bend over backwards to special order specific products that are not on display.

Colony 13 is a local business owned and operated by honest, and trustworthy owners and employees. I always consider it a special treat to window shop and purchase gifts there. They strive to try to please each customer and treat them fairly. When I shop there, they know my name and make me feel as if I am valued as a customer and friend.
