For the past two years I have frequented Red Lobster. The past two months I have visited every week to every other week. Red Lobster by the Northgate Mall is one of two restaurants I will dine in since the pandemic. There is a large dining area which makes for good social distancing and the servers wear their masks appropriately.
I've been especially impressed with Alicia who is the best server I've ever encountered in my entire life. I always request her whenever I go. She is attentive and anticipates our needs. She delivers excellent recovery if anything is wrong.
I am saddened and disappointed to say my experience last night was horrific. I will probably never go to this location again nor will I likely be welcomed. When my boyfriend I arrived I was seated an appropriate distance from other tables. The server wore her mask below her nose and kept fiddling with it which made us uncomfortable. I take coronavirus precautions very seriously considering my father has died from the virus. While waiting for our food, a table of two was seated directly next to us. There was maybe about a total of 8 tables occupied in the entire restaurant so there was no need for this. We were going to ask to move seats but our server never came back. Then a large party by seated directly behind us and shared the back of the booth with us. A child was sitting at that table sniffling and sneezing while running around the restaurant without a mask. At this point the restaurant was still almost entirely empty. A server different from ours brought out the food and said our sever would be right with us. We sat at the table with our masks on while waiting for our server to return so we could pay and pack our food to go. She never returned. I went to stand at the front podium so I could get someone to assist. No one helped me. I returned to the table and waited a few more minutes. My boyfriend had waived down our sever but she continued to ignore him. We left without eating or paying because we felt so unsafe and...
Read moreMy family and I stopped in for lunch during our stay in Chattanooga.
This location seems to be extremely understaffed as the woman that was the hostess was also our waitress. Not to mention, only part of the restaurant was actually being used and I think we might have seen maybe three people bringing out food the whole time we were there.
The waitress/hostess was nice enough, but you could tell that she was stressed out. She sat us down at a large table, even though there were only four of us and we asked for a booth. Turns out there weren’t any available booths in the small section that they were willing to seat people and it would be a lengthy wait for one to open up. Since we had our toddler with us, we just went with the table because he was hungry and we didn’t feel like going somewhere else.
We ordered drinks and food at the same time. It seemed like we were sort of being rushed to order, but at the same time, it took forever to get our drinks. It was what it was, but it wasn’t ideal when we were given over done, dry biscuits and had nothing to wash them down with.
We all ordered the endless shrimp, other than the toddler. He ordered chicken tenders and loved them. However, I have got to say that the food at Red Lobster doesn’t taste the same way that it use to. The coconut shrimp was tasteless and the sauce was bland. It barely tasted like anything at all. The dragon shrimp were just blah and the shrimp skewers weren’t very good. The best thing on the whole table was the broccoli. Even my toddler liked it! The shrimp just didn’t do it for us though.
I don’t know if the lack of flavor in the food was a food quality issue or if it was due to a lack of staff to cook it well. Either way, we know that we won’t be back, but the staff obviously needs backup at...
Read moreI went there with my wife and youngest son for the endless shrimp. The food was fantastic. I ordered the hand breaded shrimp as well as coconut shrimp bites as my pairing and the wife ordered shrimp scampi as well as the hand breaded. I found the Pina colada sauce to be a tasteful if spicy condiment. Due to recent dietary changes I have found that many items do not taste the same as they once did and I feel that this explains the unepecred spicieness, other than that the food was cooked to perfection. The shrimp we're not overly cooked as is often the case when one orders at a seafood restaurant. The sides, clam chowder and caesar side salads were both properly made and delicious. The service was very good with our waitress being very attentive in keeping both our glasses and bread basket full. She was also very helpful and inforformative with questions about the menu. Our meal was served promptly with no mishaps everything was exactly as we ordered it. I must say that this was the Red Lobster at Northgate in Hixson which is our go to location. The atmosphere is dark and casual and depending upon the time can be quite busy as we went at 4:00 pm it was rather slowvwhich was quite nice. This is a really good place to eat and I have always been quite happy with both the food and the service. It can be a bit pricey depending on what you order, obviously, but you get your money's worth. Well...
