I always enjoy going to Ulta because of the enormous variety of products they carry. They have products available to purchase from the top of your head to the tip of your toes. Also, they carry most of the top brands in frangrances for both men and women, makeup, skincare, hair products, as well as hair tools such as blow dryers, straighteners, and curling irons. They also offer professional hair services in their in-store salon. They offer brands for every budget. Anywhere from Lancome for higher budgets to Elf for tighter budgets and everywhere in between. One thing that I really like about Ulta is that they have mini size items of several of the products they carry that you can purchase at a lower costs if you are wanting to try something but don't want to invest in the average size products. These aren't available on every item, but they do offer them on several of their more expensive brand's products. I also like their rewards point program. You receive points for every purchase, and you can use those points towards discounts on your purchases. The Northgate Mall location normally has several employees who ask you if you need any assistance while you are shopping. Yet they don't stand over you. However, on my last visit, although there were 4 separate employees who I saw on the floor and one young woman working checkout, none of them acknowledged me except one gentleman who said hi when I first entered the store. I saw two of the female employees talking to one another on the floor. Actually, based on the conversation I overheard, they were gossiping/complaining about one of their coworkers. Another lady was sitting on one of the stools by the makeover stations. I'm not sure what she was doing, but she kept her head down the entire time that I browsed the products around her. There were additional employees in the salon, but of course, they were assisting their clients. I don't believe that I have ever shopped at this location without standing in a line to be checked out, and this visit was no different. There were two customers in front of me and one employee ringing up sales. But I didn't have to wait long. I have never had a bad experience at this location. They have pleasant employees and a lot of products to...
Read moreIf I could leave zero stars I would. After YEARS of going to this salon and three different stylist- all of which asked me to follow them to another salon when each of them moved-I was called less than 48 hours prior to my appointment and told that my stylist had an injury and would no longer be able to help me transfer out of my wheelchair into the salon chair. However the Injury which she mentioned was that she could " bare no weight if I needed assistance with the transfer- yet somehow she is able to stand on her feet for a service at the salon all day? THEN I was advised that NO ONE in the salon would be able to assist me either. The " assistance" I received primarily consisted of someone holding the chair so that it would not move when I transferred. Additionally, previously there had been full hair salon services the stylist and I had worked out a method of completion that allowed me not to have to transfer out of my chair and my hair still looked great when they finished. When I got this call today that option was not even offered. This call today was more about salon liability more than anything else. Nothing less and nothing more. That in itself is understandable. But with the method my stylist and I had worked out previously that allowed to stay in my chair it was a non issue, or at least I thought so. I will not be a patron here any longer. You all in the salon will be in the same situation as me one day. I hope when they discriminate against you, you don't feel as "canceled" as...
Read moreThe store was clean and the girls on the floor were amazing!!! I would give this store 5 stars but at the register Dulce had an attitude and tossed my eyeliners across the counter. I’m sure she was having a bad day or something but maybe she shouldn’t take it out on other people. I was being friendly and I asked her opinion on if the nyx or color pop liners were better. Then I was trying to exchange an unopened smash box foundation for my right shade because I grabbed the wrong one shade last time. She said I couldn’t exchange it because I didn’t have a receipt. But i was exchanging it not returning it so I didn’t realize that would be a problem. (I’ve never had that issue before and when I worked at Ulta in Cali and Washington state we could exchange products without receipt but couldn’t give cash back or return it.) I went to Hamilton place to exchange the foundation there. Dulce tossed my eyeliners I bought across the counter when I said I didn’t need a bag after opening the foundation box in front of me to make sure it wasn’t opened. Maybe it’s an east coast thing or something but west coast Ulta’s ask if you want a bag or not. I didn’t mean to ruin her day by saying I didn’t want a bag. After that I will never go back to the north gate Ulta it isn’t worth it and I will recommend the Hamilton place location to my...
