After visiting the closest GameStop store to my house, and finding that it had sold out of the (on sale), Ps4, I was directed to drive several miles to the GameStop in Hixson, TN. When in the store, a staff member informed me that they had Ps4's, but they were not allowed to sell them until the afternoon, of the next day. Of course I thought maybe the employee didn't understand what I was looking for since the Ps4 was publicly advertised as "ON SALE NOW, NOT TOMORROW. " So I explained it was on sale today and I had been directed to by a sister store (after they had checked on supply at the Hixson location), to go there and make the purchase. The employee then replied that the manager was not allowing any sales of the Ps4 until the next afternoon. Of course I wanted to speak to the manager, who as it turns out was just a few feet away. The employee called his name as I turned to face him. She (the young employee), restated to him why I was there and that I had a question that I wanted to ask. He did the unthinkable..... He through his hands up into the air and said, I've already clocked out. I'm on my break". He then walked off. This manager doesn't deserve the one star that I'm giving his store, nor does GameStop for having such a rude (possible discriminatory), guy in a managerial position. The one star is solely given because of the young girl and her willingness to try an assist me, as a customer. Maybe she...
Read moreI wanted a PS5 to play Helldivers 2 and wanted to do business with Gamestop rather than a bigger, less personal company. I came here and was fully prepared to get a PS5 and a hardcopy of HD2. I let the guy behind the counter (super nice guy btw, named Angel. Great guy. Good at his job. Probably deserves a raise) talk me into a controller charger/holder for a little extra... then as I was gonna check out I was informed that I could get a 2 year warranty for nearly $100 extra dollars or a 1 year for something like $55. I said, "Well, I'll know if it works within 30 days and that's the return policy, right?" He said no. The return policy for Gamestop is 7 days. 7 days?! So I declined the purchase and went next door to Target, bought a PS5 and a new TV. They have a 30-day return policy. I hated to not do business with Gamestop today, but a 7 day return policy is atrocious. I remember the days of the red ring of death. If you won't guarantee your product for a month for free, then you clearly don't trust it and if you don't trust your product, how can I trust...
Read moreI value being able to walk into a store and get great advice and that's what I feel Game Stop offers. I've gone to this chain for years and every sales person I've ever met has helped point me in the direction of finding products that work for me (versus selling me something because it's more profitable to the store). Once I had trouble with a game controller communicating with the computer. At first they gave me some advice for getting it to work, but when I still had trouble they asked me to bring the controller back and to go with a different one - and this time the new controller worked perfectly. That willingness to help me troubleshoot and come up with solutions is something you can't get online. I feel Game Stop is dedicated to helping customers have a great experience and that's why I keep going back and purchasing...
