Less than two hours ago, I had an upsetting experience at your establishment. While I was at the register, one of the women working behind the counter made several inappropriate and demeaning remarks about me in Spanish. I believe she assumed I would not understand because I am Black. However, I do speak Spanish, and I was deeply hurt by what was said. Her coworker, , laughed along, which made the situation even more dehumanizing.
I want to express how disappointed I am by this experience. No one should be subjected to discriminatory behavior or assumptions based on their race or perceived language abilities. I hope this matter is taken seriously, and that your staff is reminded of the importance of treating every customer with dignity and respect, regardless of their background.
