Beach Eye Care to the rescue! If you're looking for kind and knowledgeable people, these are the ones. After another local optometry business (Gontarek) said they wouldn't help me I turned to Beach Eye Care (BEC) and they came through! This is a bit long, but it's a perfect example of the power of great customer service and the impact of caring for people.
I ordered a pair of frames and lenses online that turned out terrible. Once my new glasses arrived I couldn't see out of them clearly. I was hoping to find someone locally who could help me determine who should be held accountableâthe people who wrote my prescription, the people who measured my pupillary distance, the people who made the lenses, or possibly me (maybe I input the wrong numbers).
The first place I called (my optometrist) said they would definitely NOT help me. The second place I called, Beach Eye Care, said they'd be happy to help me. Jimmy scheduled me for an appointment time that worked for me (which was within the hour). Jimmy's help continued during my entire experience at BEC. He helped me determine that the online company used the wrong pupillary distance. I found out while I was there that BEC recently started carrying the same frame maker as the ones I had ordered online so I had Jimmy work up a price for me. While Jimmy's price was a little higher, I'd much rather give my money to a local business, especially one that obviously cares about people, so I bought them from BEC.
Additionally, I found out while I was there that their price for replacing just the lenses for my husband's frames is cheaper than he was paying online so now my husband is planning to buy his lenses from BEC. Lastly, this was such a great experience and a far cry from the one with my optometrist that I'm moving my family of four to BEC for all of our eye needs moving forward. So, next year, when my insurance resets and I get the chance to buy another set of glasses... I'll be happy about spending my money with a company that...
Read moreI gave a 4 star rating but that was for my doctor. The billing department has been a problem at least twice, the last time recently where I was overcharged for a standard eye exam. I was charged for the more expensive exam and charged for a copay in addition to that when the doctor had in her notes that I had a regular exam. The manager (Nicole)was huffy the first few times I talked to her and started to be huffy today. I finally talked to a lady named Britani who was very professional and helpful and honest in looking into my concerns. When I spoke with Nicole again , she resolved the situation because I had gathered information that indicated that what she was doing was wrong and how could she go against what the doctor had written in regard to the type of exam I had . The difference I owed was a small amount but some have expressed in the reviews that there difference was much more. I see in the reviews that other patients have had similar type billing issues which leads me to believe this is on purpose because each case involves the billing department overcharging. I would leave this practice if I werenât so satisfied with my doctor. So make sure you read and understand your insurance coverage and make sure what your exam includes and yu can buy the same brand of contacts they try to push on you that are cheaper elsewhere. They think people donât read and ask questions and thatâs how they get you. There is lack of integrity within the billing department and you will be the loser if you donât pay attention to everything and every step in this...
Read moreNew to progressive lenses!!! Cheena Diaz assisted me with picking frames and lenses. I expressed my apprehension with getting them due to cost and family members stating they were hard to adjust to. Cheena told me that she has been wearing them for 10 years and talked me through some of the adjustments you make after getting into the progressive lenses and that the newer technology has made great advancements in this field. Iâve been in glasses with astigmatism since I was 8 y/o with 20/200 vision and had corrective laser surgery in my mid 20âs. Moved back into corrective lenses about two years after the surgery. Iâm in my mid 40âs now and my âreading visionâ has progressively gotten worse over the last two years so I went ahead and ordered the progressives hoping that it wouldnât be a failure for me. From the moment I put them on it was a great fit and adjustment. Just have to turn your head a little more when looking up/down/left/right to keep your focal point in the right sweet spot of the lenses. No problem here. I no longer have to take my glasses off to look at my phone or read books or cooking instructions and I can look up at the television from reading a book without putting on or taking glasses off. Thank you Cheena for your patience, experience and...
