I don't normally write reviews but because I received horrible customer service from this store, I felt compelled to review them. A couple months back, I ordered packing and shipping of a signed Giants football helmet with a glass display case to CA. I wasn't comfortable packing it myself because of the glass case so I thought I went to the experts. During the order process, I asked about insurance since the helmet was worth $300+. They said it was included. When my son received the helmet, the glass case was shattered and the broken glass had punctured the helmet in over 10 places. The helmet was now practically worthless. I made a claim with the store and was told my son needed to work with local UPS in CA to inspect the box as is. Local UPS decided not to inspect the box and notified my son they had resolved the claim and I needed to go to the store to be reimbursed. When I got to the store, they gave me a check for $107. What was this? The helmet with tax cost me $321 and I paid $86 for packing/shipping. They tried to tell me that I didn't have ample insurance on the helmet but the clerk told me it was included so that wasn't going to fly. They admitted the clerk was new. Well, that's not my problem. After a lot of complaining, they agreed to reimburse me $299 in total. Wait a minute - what about the tax and the shipping cost? They told me Corporate UPS doesn't normally reimburse more than 40% of the packing/shipping cost since the item was delivered. With their first offer of the $107, the store wasn't even going to reimburse me the shipping cost. And, just because the package was delivered, it was now worthless since it was greatly damaged. After a lot more complaining, they finally agreed to reimburse me the shipping but no more. I had to eat the tax. I warned them I would submit a bad review and would never use their shipping services again. Very poor customer service. If I could rate them a 0, I would. Read moreI must be in the Chester UPS Store once a week minimum. They're always nice and very accommodating. I popped in there today to return something straight from the gym. I had no wallet, credit cards, cash - nothing. Normally when I'm returning to sites such as Amazon or one of the Asian sites it's free they cover the cost of returns. This time in particular I had so many small boxes they needed to be contained in one large box, and I really didn't feel like going home and finding a box that would facilitate so many smaller boxes, nor did I have any money on me - fiat or otherwise - to pay for one of their boxes. Now I don't want to get anyone in trouble, and I will absolutely go back and pay for the box that this young gentleman "waved" for me "this time" he could very well have not done this, and again if this gets him into any sort of a bind; I will without question return and pay for whichever receptacle that he "waved" for me. This is how customer service is supposed to work! I believe his name was Matt, or potentially Kevin. Whatever the case may be, he is an asset to the UPS Corporation and more specifically that Chester location. If for any reason this puts his job in jeopardy - which I doubt it will - I will without question hire him. I say all this to say, thank you to that young man for keeping my day convenient, and being a little flexible, which is essential in business. So again, thank you sir, I owe you one!
Edit upon further investigation ( I returned to the store today) there is no David or Brian that works there. There is a Kevin or Matthew, I have to assume it was one of these young gentlemen. So, my fear of potential retribution from their boss essentially gives them both plausible deniability. Anyway great store great service! Read moreFor four years I had a postal box at this conveniently located UPS Store; therefore, I accessed the premises almost on a daily basis. It was my sole location from which to send and receive mail and shipments, make copies, have documents notarized and witnessed, and quickly purchase office supplies. When traveling out of the country or domestically, I greatly appreciated enjoying the confidence that all of my incoming packages and mail were being securely held until my return. During those years (2014-2018), I was always cheerfully greeted by Don and his wonderfully helpful staff and I consistently received excellent professional services, without a single exception.
I recently moved from the area, but among my fondest memories of being a part of that lovely community are the kind and fastidious services I received at the UPS Store in Chester. I would give this business ten stars if such...
