Mimi's Prom STL — Local services in Chesterfield

Out of all the dress shops we visited in the St. Louis area, this was the only one petty enough to charge a $35 fee for canceling less than 24 hours in advance. I drove in from Illinois and made multiple appointments for the same day. So yeah, we showed up — even though we’d already dropped $500 on a dress somewhere else that morning. If you’re going to charge people for not showing or for late cancellations, I’ll gladly show up, browse your overpriced dresses, and have ZERO intention of buying a thing!

We had to stand outside like it was a nightclub because they don’t let you in until five minutes before your appointment. No seating while you wait—no hospitality—just weird vibes.

The selection was tiny, the staff acted cold and suspicious (like we were going to steal something?), and there was only one employee running around for three girls scheduled for a one-hour appointment. For a store pushing $600 dresses like it was a super upscale boutique, it felt more like a strip mall clearance rack.

I’m so confused by their branding — they try to present themselves as a high-end, upscale boutique, but the staff’s short shorts and crop tops, combined with the overall vibe, feel totally mismatched and unprofessional. It just doesn’t add up. I won't...

This was our first prom stop for the year and we had no idea what to expect. We were all blown away in the best way possible! Jordan was absolutely phenomenal at making our daughter feel like she was the most important person and listening to what she had to say. She also did an amazing job of including us (parents) and making the entire experience such a memorable one. She found the perfect dress, stayed right around our price range, so personable and friendly. Highly recommend this store and her! Love that when we had our appointment there was only one other customer in there, so we never felt overwhelmed. The dress bag, shirt and photo they take was a nice touch in making the experience as well! Thank you!

She was an absolute sweetheart and so calm when we were starting to stress because we could not find a dress we loved. She came in and saved the day and found us the perfect dress in our price range! Back a year later shopping for prom dresses. Julia is the best!! She was super patient and helped us find the perfect dress for my daughter. Julia helped me daughter try everything on, she tied the dresses, put everything away and made great suggestions. They have tons of dressing rooms, great lighting, ample full length mirrors. They also have shoes and accessories to try on. Once again, she found the dress! She found the dress!! Loved our experience shopping at Mimi's. Truly excellent customer service. Our stylist, Hanna, was super helpful and attentive and listened to my daughter's likes and dislikes to help her find dresses she liked. They have so many choices - short dresses for Hoco and long dresses for prom. Excellent lighting. Tons of space. They also track what school you will be wearing the dress to and won't sell the same dress to someone else who will be at that dance. They are closed on Sunday and Monday and you have to have an appointment to go inside. You can book by calling or thru their website.
