The posole rojo is fire 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥
Came on a Saturday evening around 5/6pm and my bestie and I were the only ones in the restaurant.
We ordered tacos de Al pastor and cecina dinner (choice of two tacos) and came with rice and beans for $11.99. Great value. Both tacos were sooo good and very flavorful. 😋
The posole rojo $12.99 was absolutely the best posole I have had in a long time, and a great portion size, it was so filling. One bowl is enough for two to share we were stuffed!!! I've tried a place in Pilsen before for posole and it wasn't that great but here it is spicy, tasty, and the pork is falling off the bone tender! The broth has a rice deep smokey flavor from the chiles. 🤤🤤🤤🤤And it comes with garnish (cilantro, onion, red Chile) and fried crunchy tostadas. We absolutely loved the posole and highly recommend.
I would have given 5 stars but we were given plasticware for the taco dinner but when we got the posole we had a stainless steel spoon which I appreciated because I didn't want to use a plastic spoon to eat hot liquid. I wish they would have provided us with stainless steel utensils when we had the taco dinner because that dish was ready first. Please provide this as an option next time for your customers!!! I took off one star for that very reason, I dislike using plasticware especially because it's toxic for our bodies. Also, the other reason I only gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because I left close to a 15% tip when paying but when we received our first order of food, the taco dinner, the waiter did not bring it to our table, we had to go to the counter to retrieve it. It was only a few feet away so we didn't mind but if I'm leaving tip for the service it would have been appreciated if he brought it to our table. When our posole was ready the other male waiter, not the same as the first time, but a different guy, brought it directly to our table which was nice since I did tip fairly on the bill.
For drinks, we ordered the horchata is also very good and not overly sweet, $4.59 for a large. Honestly, I would drive here just to have their posole again and I live in Pilsen about a 20-30 min drive.
Everything was fresh and made right there as we ordered. Delicious! The restaurant is small but clean and the music is nice, they play a mix of Spanish and American classic hits.
FYI it's located on a busy street so it'll be a bit of a challenge to find parking, luckily we found a free...

Read moreLook, you’re not going here on first date. You’re not ordering delivery for your corporate event.
But when you are feeling like having some good, authentic Mexican food, Jorge’s is ready to deliver just that. The food is great and most importantly, consistent. I’ve tried well over 100 taco spots in the city and Jorge’s may not be the best, but I note that I will get good quality EVERY time for a very reasonable price
The Al Pastor is great The Milanesa Torta is great The Chile Relleno tacos are AMAZING The guacamole you can do without, is alright but not going to hit the spot if you are craving rich savory guacamole
End of the day, the 5 stars are deserved for authenticity, budget, consistency in...
