I just bought a pair of leather gloves from Floradora: teal/turquoise leather with the polka dots on the back. They are even more beautiful, now that I am admiring them at home, than when I was admiring them in the store. I don't get downtown that often, but when I am nearby I love to come through the Monadnock Building: the building itself and all the shops are special. I love Floradora, but I half avoid visiting because the shop is such a temptation! I was in the building to visit the shoe repair shop; I walked down the hallway, admired the Floradora windows, and was very proud of myself to keep walking. Then I walked over to Printers' Row to go to the bookstore, and walking back I was on the sidewalk. I passed the Floradora windows, the display of leather gloves caught my eye, and I stopped in my tracks. It is So difficult these days to find good, fun leather gloves in a local store. But of course! Where else but Floradora? I went inside, still determined to check them out (no purchases tonight!). Michael who was working was the perfect salesman: really helpful, told me a little about them, showed me the details, helped me shoose my size, but no pressure, no pushing. End result: the gloves are at home with me now. I showed my husband, and his response was: if they had more colors, why didn't you get 2 pairs? We don't have a lot of extra funds to be throwing around, but we both appreciate quality, craft, and some pizzazz. That seems the right word to use! So three cheers to Floradora for letting me find gorgeous, funky, beautifully made Italian leather gloves locally, at an independent shop that always has charm. Thank you, Floradora!

Florodora is my favorite boutique in Chicago. Everything here is high quality and lasts forever. They stock brands that are hard to find in the US, so if you see something you like, grab it! When you shop here, you'll receive attentive service and know you are getting something you won't see on everyone else. They have beautiful clothing, jewelry, shoes, and accessories. They even stock gift items like fun cards, candles, etc. The owner, Michael, has a terrific eye. Here I'm wearing my new sweater on spring vacation (by Indi and Cold). It's so soft and I love it, like everything else I've purchased here. Please check Florodora out, in person or online!

I’d been wanting to visit Florodora for a while now, and it did not disappoint! I saw a few items on the website that I wanted to try, and the selection in store was even better. I found an adorable top, the lightest cotton dress for a summer wedding (on sale!), and a great work dress. I need to come back for shoes and a puzzle once I clear some old things from my closet…

Visiting this store is a true boutique experience too - the owner was incredibly helpful in selecting a few items based on what I was already pulling to try. He gave us lots of space at first, but I enjoy chatting and it was really neat to learn about some of the lines that you truly can’t find anywhere else. Everything is so carefully curated in a way that only small businesses can offer - and it didn’t stop with the clothes.

I’m also obsessed with the vibe of the store - right near the Printer’s Row neighborhood, all of the fixtures and displays match the industrial style of the building and neighborhood so incredibly well.

I feel like Anthropologie wishes it could offer the quality and experience of this boutique. It’s sort of like a fancy restaurant - the menu might be smaller, but you know that everything is going to be delicious and it’s not hard to find something you’ll love.

I want to add - I’m someone who loves a small business, nothing more, and I want to support places like this that are quickly disappearing. It’s so rare to find boutiques like this anywhere, let alone downtown Chicago. The Monadnock building in general is likely the closest thing to an old-school shopping experience you’ll find. Every shop I’ve entered there, even the restaurant (thank you for the recommendation!), is fabulous. If you want to support small businesses AND feel some old world charm, you should give this shop and the others a visit. You won’t be disappointed! (And then leave them a nice review because they won’t ask...

It's our pamper day wih my friends! So, we did rush shopping in Florodora because we had heard that the goods sold here are of exceptionally high quality and are one-of-a-kind in some way. The previous week was pay week for me, so I set aside some money to treat on myself. Since this is our first time shopping in this location, we are unsure of what to anticipate initially. But as we enter, I saw a lot of variety of products and I spent a lot of money on clothing, and when I wore it, I was showered with compliments. I can't wait to come back and shop until my heart's content because of this very reason. A few of my friends have purchased some pants as well as tops. I think that we purchased far too many items, but I am in love with every one of them. They have earned five stars from me because of the outstanding job that...
