Iâm giving 2 stars only because the concierge team is amazing. I wish I could give negative stars otherwise. Iâve been living here for only 1 month and Iâm already ready to move out.
When I first moved into this apartment a month ago, I wasnât able to move into my apartment the move-in date on the lease because the maintenance team said they have to do some more work with my room. When I got to see my apartment finally, the floor has scratches and the wall has cracks. Thereâs also a huge dirty footprint on the white part of the windowsill. No one bothered to clean the apartment throughly for the new tenants. Luckily the management responded to my email this time.
Noise issues are ridiculous. The construction site wasnât even that bothering. First, the window is not noise insulating at all. Second, I live right next to the trash chute. I can hear huge noises and glass shattering even late at night around 1am. In the morning, thereâre also one dog with separation anxiety probably barking excessively and consistently during the day. It has been the background music when Iâm on zoom meeting with colleagues and professors. I sent a voice recording to the management and asked them what I can do. However no one responded to my message this time. I had to report to CHI311 and hopefully theyâll take some actions with the dog barking. Third, when people are talking in the hallway, I can hear every single word they said. Again, Iâm shocked to see a world well-known architect will built a poor quality building like this and regard this as âluxury rental buildingâ.
Apartment quality issue. While everything is visual-wise beautifully designed, there are little cracks on my floor. The switch broke the first week I moved in. The cracks on the wall according to the maintenance team is âthe nature of the building designâđ¤Ą. They could fix it but they told me the cracks will continue to happenâŚ.
If you are not bothered by cracks and all those extremely loud and bothering noises, itâs a perfect apartment!
Update: changing to one star after I received an useless call from...
Read moreWe moved into a two bedroom apartment at one Bennett park in mid June after having good experiences at a one bedroom unit for a year.
Ever since we moved in, we noticed constant abrupt drop sounds and heavy foot steps from the ceiling, from around 7am to around 9pm almost everyday. The sounds are directly from ceiling and feel very intrusive. We donât mind the far away noises in the building hallway and refuse room at all. We reported to management in hope they can help us solve the problem.
After sending two engineers on two consecutive days from 7-8pm for evaluation, the management told us the noise is from our upstairs neighbor and said the noises are not excessive so they canât do anything.
First of all, the two 1-hour session doesnât really tell the full story as this occurs everyday, throughout the day. We are woken up by the noises at 7ish in the morning and hear abrupt drop sounds throughout the day.
Secondly, instead of providing a feasible solution such as maybe asking our neighbor to add more carpet area etc, the management office asked us if we want to move to another unit in the building. Not to mention we just moved and Iâm currently eight month pregnant.
Last but not least, the three units that management office sent us for moving consideration are all straight north facing. The management office quoted us the rent price as the full rent. If they are more professional, they would know from the leasing office that when we picked the units, both times for one bed and two bed apartment, we specifically said we donât want north facing units and both times, we chose south facing units.
As it is stated in the lease, that we all are entitled to enjoy quiet privacy. We hope the management can provide a sensible solution for us to stay.
UPDATE 2/2/2020 We ended up moving to another unit in the building. So far it has been quiet. Management is very helpful throughout the process. We decided to stay in the building as the building staff is great, very professional...
Read moreI can not say enough good things about the One Bennett Park Apartments. I have lived here for over a year, and I continue to be impressed with the attention to detail in every aspect of the building.
The entire staff is fantastic. From the doormen to the cleaning crew, every person that works at OBP greets you with a smile, and always has your comfort and satisfaction as their #1 priority. Throughout the pandemic, the staff has exceeded all of my expectations. They have managed to take extreme precautions to keep all of the residents safe, while still maintaining all the comforts of a luxury building.
The amenities are some of the best in the city. When we first toured the building, I was mostly impressed with the sheer size and variety of the amenities. However after living here, it has become exceedingly clear how much thought went in to designing these shared spaces. From the limestone arches and gothic lights in the grill area, to the ABSOLUTELY AMAZING gym, no cost was spared, and no detail unconsidered.
I would be remiss in not calling out the commitment to luxury throughout the building. The apartments are appointed with the highest-end fixtures. The kitchens and bathrooms are far superior to any other apartments in the city. Even the door handles are custom and absolutely gorgeous.
Finally, to those of you who did not rate OBP a 5, I suggest you reconsider your decision to live in an apartment building in a metropolitan city. While city living is not for everyone, this type of city living is, in my opinion, truly...
