I avoid it as much as possible, and rather drive more than a mile to stater. Why? Because bad management has made this place inferior. First, if you value your health, don't buy chicken here. Twice I took home and immediately opened packages that still had 5 days to expiration, that looked like they were just packed, and found that one of the pieces had already gone bad. And in my experience their chicken guess bad much faster than the ones I get from stater. I even called them the last time... Only because I wished they would get better because it would be to my advantage since I only live a block away... And the last answering was not even apologetic, told me to bring the package and they will give me a refund. Another thing, they are importing more and more from China, like garlic... C'mon...I don't even eat out when I'm in China, and the local company cook goes to great lengths to buy only ugly looking veggies and fruits because even she doesn't trust the food grown there... I think the management is to blame for the chicken and service issues, and the company's policies are to blame for the stupidly weak paper bag they gave us (don't get me started on California's bag restrictions). So if only go there when it is absolutely to my advantage, otherwise I'd rather pay a bit more and get what I use at stater, trader Joe's, Albertsons, in that order. I included some photos of management not working... Tons of trays below the check stand, none by this entrance. And how long has it been since the ticketing numbers machine has been broken? A month? Two? I am not sure because I rarely rarely...

This place has a bad food, dirty store and bad help staff. Why do buyers had to bag their bought items? And why cashier throw food after scan? I would rather go to store in Diamond Bar Blvd or Golden spring Blvd where you can speak English and work person will respond to you. Even other store are 15~20 minutes alway from Chino Hills. 99 Ranch it feels like 99 cents store. I wish there was -⭐️ ratings. PS: New H-mart is opening soon at Sam's Club next 2 Big 5. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Update Aug 2024. You see the store management doesn't reply to current low reviews because they just don't care about their customers. Did I mention about their sister store Cravings in Chino is changed to outlet store to different company. No wonder 99 ranch in chino hills worker is fighting with customer. Because they are next target when H-mart is going to open up soon saw people are constructing in the building. 1 word gotta to say to 99 ranch mark corporate people. KARMA!

April 2025 to all people who hates this bad market. Good news new H-mart is opened. In Chino next to Sam's club and Big 5 sporting. So spend your money there do not waste your hard earned money to this place. No wonder this place is becoming so empty. Even seeing old chinese grandpa's working...

I have been shopping here for the past 10 years ONLY because the next closest Asian market is 12 miles away. They frequently sell meat that has been frozen for long periods of time. And also their prepared food once gave me food poisoning. Another time, they left a pallet of dairy products sitting on the floor unrefrigerated all day because they were having problems with the refrigeration. I understand stores need to cut corners to make ends meet but there are a lot of health and safety violations that can get consumers very sick. During the summer you will find gnats and flies inside the store and in some of their products. Once I had to call and make a complaint to management because I purchased 2 live lobsters and both had parasites (worms) crawling over there bodies. Inspectors came by the store next day and had them empty out the tanks. They get one star for having better prices than most major markets but as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". Always double check expiration dates and make sure you wash all fruits and vegetables immediately as you...

This was the first 99 Ranch Market I have visited. It was in 2007 and I have never visited a Asian market that was this clean and had contemporary styling. 14 years later this impression still holds. While the decor hasn't been updated since then, it remains attractive and well maintained. We went here to buy produce. I got a yellow fleshed watermelon for myself. The quality of the fruit and vegetables were as.good as ever would be. I made a general run of the premises and the shelves were well stocked and the floor were clean. Meat, deli, seafood and bakery look fresh. There is a premium here, you will pay a little more than of you go to the smaller Asian markets. This is the price to pay for the environment and wider selection a supermarket offers. Its a grocery store and a good one. I am glad to see this place 14 years later, may even be a bit misty eyed..

Parking is pretty easy even on weekends. It is located right next to Daiso, so it is very easy to find. There's a lot of shopping carts up front. There is a small bakery inside that sells bread, pastry and cakes. You can also buy Chinese BBQ duck, honey glazed BBQ pork, crakling roast pork, soy sauce chicken, braised pork intestines and beef tendons on the right side of the store. There is also a hot food section with lots of options to choose from. This location is always very well stocked with live seafood. There's a lot of dungeness crab, rock crab, lobster, geoduck, Alaska king crab, manila clams, catfish, tilapia and live mouth bass. Service in the seafood or meat section is decent or just okay. Some cashiers are fluent in Mandarin while others speak Cantonese.
