Tasty Noodle House — Restaurant in Chino Hills

Went to this restaurant on a whim when my partner & I were hungry for dumplings but didn't want to trek to DTF. Our other dumpling & soup backup joint was also about 20 mins away and this place popped up on our Yelp search within a 3 min drive from our location at the time. Winner! When we arrived this place had all of 4 tables with people, which didn't bode well. What we're we I. For? But, as we ordered and got served, more people showed up and the place was buzzing (hmm, did the foodie bus make a stop?). We ordered 4 types of dumplings: pork soup, vegetable Shanghai style, bread-like pork, pan fried fish. Neither of us was disappointed with the baos; and the vinegar dipping used at this place is different, but not horrible. I like my vinegar strong and tangy, their version was mild, but worked. We had noodles with shrimp--rather tasty & shrimp was deveined/clean (yay). We had a chicken with veggie dish in a dark sauce, not quite what we had expected but yummy nonetheless. We had plenty of leftovers overs for lunch (winning). The service was average, one of the servers checked in on us before ordering to see if we needed help with selection, but she realized we got it handled. The value for the food was fair, we even had leftovers for 2 people, which means we were able to get 2 meals out of the price for one dinner. Moola maximus! Overall, for a local joint this was good; considering that as little as 3 years ago Chino Hills wasn't know as the mecca of dining, but there are better options these days, and this is one of them. We'll be returning to try more of their offerings, and ordering up more of their thirst quenchin fruit...

UPDATE: 12-09-19 Returned Visit. The fish soup is commendable. The Stir Friend Rice Cake with pork is very good. I paid $2 for extra pork. The Stir fried Noodle with Shrreded Beef adding $2 for extra meat is very very unsafistying, a big plate of noodles with less than 3 oz. of Beef and lil bit of cabbage, and it taste awfully plane. I wouldn't suggest any stir fried noodle plates. It is typical of old fashioned Chinese restaurant, they are very stingy on meats.

UPDATE 8-17-19 Return Visit.

Up grade to 4 Stars. tried the Fish Soup and Shanghai Chow Mien. The Fish Soup is commendable, a little less fish than desired but it was good and tasty. The Chow Mien is just noodles and Vegas, with very little pork, same as the stir Fried Rice Cake I ordered last time.

So, I'll give Fish Soup 5 Stars Stir-Fried Rice Cake 4 Stars Stir-Fried Shanghai Noodle 3 Stars.

8-14-19: First Time try out, one of the few restaurants that caters Shanghai Cuisine, my whole impression is nothing stands out, just a typical small Chinese Restaurant.

The ambience seems pleasant, open, airy with large windows, but not much decors, but they do have a large and clean restroom. Staffs are friendly and services are good and prompt.

I ordered their Stir Fried Rice Cake with Pork and Shanghai Vege, Iced Water. As shown in photo, there is a plateful of Rice Cakes but very little TINY SLICED Pork, probably at the most 2 oz. of pork in the whole plate. Also, There is not enough Shanghai Vegetable (A specie of dandelion) to give that special taste this plate is known for.

Since there is not many Shanghai Restaurant around the Chino Hills area, I will come back to try...

I will not come here because if you are 🇰🇷. They service you in bad way. I was here 2 weeks ago and lady waitress spoke in mandarin chinese. I told her I don't speak chinese then she looked at me in strange way. Then that was start of bad service. I had to wait about 5 minutes long for her to come and take the order. After the order was put in. We have to wait over 40 minutes long when I only saw 2 other table and had 1 table with 4 people other was a single person. As time past for over a 5minutes those 2 table where gone and my table was only people in this restaurant. Then the waitress was in the cooking room. And didn't come out for another 10 minutes. Then I went near the cooking room asking them why is order taking long? They said because our order is to be cooked differently so it's going to take 10 more minutes. I then waited as saw one person came to restaurant for take out and and in less than 10 minutes take out order was given and person got it and leave. I was really mad and told the waitress we are leaving your service is bad and came out. This place is bad to a people of 🇰🇷. Don't come here because...
