My wife and I had the pleasure of coming here spontaneously for a quick after-work bite. We were honestly hesitant since our previous dim sum adventures were 50/50 -- hit or miss.
Tasty Dim Sum House was surprisingly delicious! We ordered the shiu mai, shrimp-leek dumplings, shrimp dumplings, shrimp-scallop dumplings, Cantonese sponge cake, haim sui gok, and a dish that had minced pork and spices wrapped in a large flat rice noodle and steamed in a light soy sauce mixture. We wanted to try the baked cha siu bao, but they ran out the day we dined - so we tried the steamed one instead.
Everything was great. The dumplings were plump filled and warm-to-steamy. Even though we enjoyed the dim sum with condiments of black vinegar and chili oil, they were all good on their own, too.
We had the dan tat (egg tart) for desert, which was warm and delectable.
Service was very kind and attentive, and we dined at an hour that wasn't too busy - so we were fortunate not to experience long waits for our food. We will definitely return to try more of...
Read moreNot bad at all. We came on mother's day weekend (Saturday) and was afraid Rowland locations were going to be backed up so we took a gamble and came here. I absolutely loved that there was no wait, we came and were sat promptly.
We ordered two orders of siu mais (燒賣), one steamed ribs, one daikon cake (蘿蔔糕), one order of 油條腸粉, and one bowl of pork and preserved eggs congee (皮蛋瘦肉粥). The food came almost instantly and the flavors were actually pretty delicious. Very much enjoyed the siu mai because it was very similar to Cantonese style that I love. The daikon cake definitely was very heavy on the actual daikon which I also loved, but might be a little too bitter for others. The steamed ribs were nicely savory from the fermented black beans (豆豉) with great cartelidge texture. The only thing that was on the dislike list was the you tiao, boyfriend did not enjoy it at all because it was overly fried and super oily. The texture was hard and difficult to eat.
Overall service was friendly and fast, we didn't have to wait. I would...
Read moreFamily run dim sum spot located in the Daiso complex. Came here with my parents to mix up our dim sum spot, and opted for dine-in around 1pm. We waited for 25 minutes for a table as the place is pretty small and all the tables were already occupied. There’s one large table in the back for big groups, but otherwise this spot is primarily a takeout joint or for small groups. You order via paper and they’ll bring it out as it’s ready. Online ordering is available. There’s a 5% discount if you pay with cash. Credit cards are accepted. Parking available in the lot.
The dim sum tasted very fresh and we particularly liked the pineapple buns and the spicy wontons. The haim sui gok were also very delicious. They have tea service and that’s a separate charge (as typical). Service is essentially nonexistent but that’s the mark of an authentic place. Overall, a good stop for dim sum in the...
