I feel so mixed about this business and I feel like my experience with them was an anomaly, but it was so frustrating that I feel the need to share even though it's been a few months. First, I want to say that the owners are some of the nicest people I have ever met, and they both get a 5/5 for personality. The quality of their work is also very nice and though I have little experience with jewelry repair, that also gets a 5/5. My issues are with communication (2/5) and punctuality (1/5). I came in on 08/27 with a ruby ring that had a loose stone and a bad prong. I also had a pair of pearl earrings that needed regluing to the earring post. I was treated wonderfully and given a finish date of 09/08. . I returned on 09/11 to pick up my jewelry and was informed that they didn't get to it. It was a holiday weekend, Labor Day, and they were behind. It was a little annoying not to receive a phone call but that's okay. At this time my partner purchased a very nice gold chain from them for my necklace and they took the pendant to build up the bail. So nice and helpful, I didn't mind waiting a bit. . On 09/18 I called at 10:30 a.m. to see if my items were finished. I did not want to make the trip to town in case they were not. I left a message with my inquiry, name, phone and email. I never received anything back. . On 09/25 I went down to the store, still with no word, and there was a note on their door that the family had contracted COVID dated 09/21. That is horrible and I hoped everyone was okay. I sent an email about a week later to follow-up and request that I receive a phone call when they are back in the store and my items were ready for pick up. . I received a call that they were back and my items ready on 10/12. Wonderful! I came to the store on 10/15 to pick up my items. The ring and pendant were completed and looked beautiful but my earrings were mistakenly forgotten about. Frankly I was so annoyed. At this point I had dropped them off nearly two months ago and while I understand the family experienced a bout of COVID-19, my items had a given completion date of two weeks prior to the contraction. The owner was apologetic, and said he would get to it right away, I could pay when I picked them up. So I took home 2/3 of my things and went home. . I returned on 10/21 at 5:30 p.m. to pick up my pearls. When they found them, the pearls were not fixed. I was told they were 'on the list of projects for tomorrow'. I asked for them back feeling like if I left the pearls there I would be returning in a week with the same issues so I paid and left. I am not a jeweler but I do know something about customer service and if a job was overlooked and forgotten, don't you think you should move that job to the top of your list? When I came in on 08/27, I didn't think it would take until 10/21 to get my items back, especially when I was given a completion date of 09/08. If it was going to take longer, that's okay - but could I have received a phone call? Instead I had to come to town almost 5 times to check on my items and they never got finished. I was truly disappointed. Summation: They are some of the nicest people and it is a beautiful store. Reading other reviews I think I somehow fell through the cracks and this doesn't happen often, but it shouldn't have taken 8 weeks (or we can deduct 2 for COVID) so 6 weeks, to get my items back unless previously stated. You want to take two months to fix my items? Fine! But please tell me when I hand them over instead of week by week. Personality 5/5 Quality 5/5 Communication...
Read moreI was wanting a redesign of my mother's ring. I was very frustrated with several other jewelers in the area who wanted to sell me a new ring for $1600-1800 eventhough I told them my budget was significantly less than this. Anderson's was recommended to me. They actually did a redesign of a different anniversary ring by taking out the small diamonds and replacing them with larger stones. I have included the before and after pictures. It did take about a month for the measuring of stones, ordering, and labor. It was SO worth it!! This ring is BEAUTIFUL! Better than I imagined it would be and under budget! A+ workmanship and integrity here! Makes such a difference talking to the jeweler who does the work. I will never shop anywhere...
Read moreI cannot recommend A Anderson Jewelers enough! After shopping around for an engagement ring at a few other places in the Chippewa area I stopped in after a coworker’s recommendation. Julie was very happy to help us narrow down what we wanted and she was super easy to work with throughout the entire process. I had a proposal opportunity come up quicker in the process than anticipated and asked if there was any chance they could finish the ring in time for that. They went above and beyond what I would expect out of any jeweler and Rees delivered excellent results under very short notice. If you’re looking for a local jeweler that will treat you like family, this...
