PLEASE PROCEED WITH CAUTION WHEN SHOPPING HERE! On August 16th, 2022 I purchased a 2015 Dodge Journey from Nicholas Sweeney. Although he was polite, heâd given me false information about the vehicle. One of the various questions that I asked was did this vehicle have Bluetooth and he said yes. A day or two after my purchase, I come back up to the dealership to ask how to work my Bluetooth. I was informed by someone else that the car didnât have Bluetooth and that it could be installed. I figured it was a small mishap and I let it slide. Should I have? Absolutely not. The salary of car salesmen in Ohio can vary between $18,000 to $176,000. Meaning you are paid to assist customers in purchasing a vehicle. Some of those assistances include having information on hand about the vehicle you are selling. This information is needed to perform the job title therefore if they donât have the information it shows either a lack of knowledge of their job and a lack of integrity. Would you trust a real estate agent who didnât know how many bathrooms the property they are selling had? I wish I could end the story there but unfortunately it doesnât. Approximately three months later, there is an issue with the engine which put the vehicle in the shop for nearly a month. The expectation when paying for a vehicle is you will get the bang for you buck. Unfortunately, I found myself paying for a car note, insurance for that said car, transportation through uber, and a fee for the replacement of the engine; this is very costly and will have a negative financial impact on you. This is not normal, I have purchased vehicles from places such as Suntrup Hyundai in St. Louis, MO that ran smoothly for years. I say this to say this is not a normal occurrence for a vehicle to have engine problems three months in. That wasnât the only issue, there have been various issues where I had to get the car towed 7 times. That is excessive especially for having the vehicle for a year and 6 months and each time I had to pay for something to get fixed. The customer service may be nice and polite at first but itâs only a facade to sell you a vehicle. When you need information in reference to your vehicle youâll be given the run around. If you call, they just transfer you to another person whoâll transfer you to another person. If you email they wonât respond. When you show up they will help but they act as if you are a burden to them. There is a lack of communication between the team members. I signed a cancellation policy on December 28th and later when I asked about the paperwork I needed, they had me sign it again and it wasnât submitted until January 31st. At the end of the day, they will get in their cars and go live their lives on your dime meanwhile you will be left paying for a car and still have to walk in the winter. They have no integrity. They will sell you a lemon and the laws of Ohio donât protect you. In conclusion, If you have the time, energy, and finances for that then proceed with caution however I wouldnât trust Walt Sweeney himself with a crumb...
Read moreUpdate: I saw your response. While I appreciate the apology, your manager at the Harrison location made it crystal clear what kind of company you are and that my business was not welcome. Regarding the offer of a gas card, I am not driving another round trip, with traffic and construction, 6+ hoursâthis is an empty offer to make you look better to anyone reading this review and we both know it. Further according to the manager âa lot, a lot of work needs to be doneâ on that car. After how I was treated I do not trust you and I do not trust the cars you sell to be safe and reliable. Instead, I will take my business to one of your competitors and to tell everyone I know what happened.
Cannot begin to describe how livid and disgusted I am at Walt Sweeney-if I could give 0 stars I would. I scheduled a test drive of a used vehicle a week in advance, on my only day off [for emphasis ONLY DAY OFF]. I called 2 days before to confirm the appointment and discuss purchasing the car if the test drive went well. Part of the conversation during the call was that I was driving in from more 2 hours away. I get to their used car shop on Harrison, after waking up very early and driving more than 2 hours, the car is not available. When I asked why they would schedule a test drive if the car was not ready âwell itâs still for sale.â When I walked over to the open door of the managerâs office to speak with him. The manager, who was on his private cell phone-held up his index finger to me to wait while he took a few minutes to finish up his very clearly not-work call. The manager apparently decided yesterday to send it out to have new tires (âspecially ordered because itâs a Priusâ) put on it and detailing has not been done inside or out. According to the manager âa lot, a lot of work needs to be doneâŚto the paint to get it ready.â He repeated âa lot, a lot of work needs to be doneâ 5 times, which seemed to hint that other things beyond paint, tires, and detailing needed to be done. Apparently they didnât flagged it in their system that the car wasnât available. He offered to take me up to the tire discounters store to look at it, but it wouldnât be ready to test drive until âsometime this afternoon.â The manager and the staff only vaguely apologized for the inconvenience, and were insufferably rude and unprofessional. I was fully prepared to purchase this car if the test drive and pre-purchase inspection I had scheduled at another location had gone well. Again, I had actually spoken to one of the staff two days ago about figuring out scheduling pick up and paperwork, since I knew I would be driving down by myself. Instead I will NEVER buy a car through...
Read moreI found a vehicle online for sale that looked to be a phenomenal price so my boyfriend and I drove from Columbus to Cincinnati with the intent on purchasing it from this dealership. Upon arrival, we noticed the vehicle was out front and ready for us to test drive. However, we noticed that the vehicle was covered in salt and dirt from the road. We went inside the dealership and met Caleb. Caleb was very polite. He proceeded to tell us that the 2024 Lincoln Nautilus was part of their Buyback program. Prior to arrival, we did pull the CARFAX report and noticed that the vehicle had been recalled. But from the description that was provided, it seemed as if the serpentine belt was the only thing that fixed/replaced. But, after reading the extensive report we received from Caleb, it stated that the vehicle had extensive work and had to have the engine replaced. Immediate red flag as this was not in the report we read. We pointed out that this is now considered a salvage vehicle and that I would have issues insuring it and selling it down the road. But our concerns were glossed over and explained away. After test driving the SUV, we noticed that it was a hybrid. Another detail that was kept from the online vehicle description. Against better judgment, we offered a fair counter price. After hearing our counter, Caleb brought out the manager John to speak with us. He was sarcastically polite and told us that he was surprised by my counter and stated that their price was the best in the US and said that my offer was offensive. I backed up my offer and pointed out the discrepancies that we read online and the actual issues the car has had, the potential issues I would have selling it and getting it insured. John started to be rude and extremely demeaning, even after I offered another higher price. John stated that a down payment isnât anything to the dealer and that the price is firm, which is another thing they should have stated on their website. We ended up ending the convo early and leaving in complete disbelief at the disrespect. My bf and I are typically mild mannered people. But after being treated with disrespect and feeling as if our money wasnât good enough, we left feeling angry and upset. Caleb was very nice and polite. But I would never get a car from John after the way he treated us. Very...
