Updated review to 1 STAR
After being a loyal and frequent customer, I’ve decided to update my review to a 1-star based on repeated poor experiences especially my most recent visit on August 29, 2025.
I’ve regularly come to this location with family and friends, often on Mondays for wing night and sometimes later in the week after work. Unfortunately, the service and attitude at the Crookshank Roosters have consistently declined.
The hostesses are the biggest issue. It doesn’t matter what time of day. They almost always have an attitude, as if your presence is a burden. Getting seated often feels like an inconvenience to them. God forbid they need to clean a table. It’s like they have to ask permission from their own limbs to do their job. And if they disappear to the kitchen? Expect a 5–10 minute wait with no explanation.
There’s no greeting, no smile, no sense of urgency. Just eye rolls and a monotone “how many?” That’s the only phrase I’ve heard from them in all my visits. It’s unpleasant, uninviting, and unprofessional.
Service from servers is hit or miss. Some are great, but many seem to disappear after dropping off your food and drinks zero table engagement after that until it’s time to pay the check.
Even though Roosters brands itself as a fast casual restaurant, this location is far from that. Wait times keep getting longer and longer. On my most recent visit, I ordered just 5 wings at 10:00 PM with an empty dining room and still waited 30 minutes for my food. At that point, I didn’t even have the energy to complain. I just wanted to leave.
After visiting the Milford location, I realized how much I’ve been settling. That team sets the bar high. They know how to welcome guests and provide a great experience, everything Crookshank lacks.
At this point, I drive 30 minutes to Milford rather than go 10 minutes to Crookshank. That should tell you everything.
Whether it’s management, staff, or company culture, something at Crookshank is broken. Until it changes, I strongly recommend avoiding this location. Try another Roosters Crookshank will only disappoint
I DONT RECOMMEND THIS...
Read moreI went to this restaurant yesterday and for the most part, I had a very good experience. The waitress and other workers that I encountered were really pleasant (until the very end of our visit) and they seemed to actually like their jobs. They also got our orders right the first time and brought out extra sauces when we requested them (at a fee, of course). The reason for the 3 star review is 2 fold. Firstly, anyone who knows Roosters knows that they have really large wings. I feel like that is the reason we are willing to pay the prices that they charge. For some reason, I had a wing that was literally tiny. The wing looked like it would have come from Larosa's or Bdubs, not Roosters. I pointed out how incredibly small the wing was to my waiter and she looked at me like I was crazy and declared there was currently a wing shortage so... basically I get what I get. Please see pictures for how tiny that wing was in comparison to the other wings. It was crazy. I've been eating Roosters for years at other locations and even during the "wing shortage," my wings have still been what I've come to expect from Roosters. Secondly, at the conclusion of our meal when we were ready to leave, I was not permitted to pay the hostess at the front and leave. The hostess said we had to wait for the waitress who would be around soon. We waited an additional 5 minutes or so (I think it had gotten a lot busier than it was earlier) before I got the attention of another hostess and asked if she would get our waitress so we could leave. Then when the hostess addressed my waitress, the waitress seemed to snap at her and said she didn't need any help... she would get to us in a minute. I felt bad because I didn't want to get the other worker screamed at. I ended up waiting another 3-5 minutes or so after that before I was able to finally leave the restaurant. Overall, the food was very good and I had an OK experience for my first time at this location, so they earned...
Read moreFirst time ever eating at Roosters was last night. I will say the food was pretty good. The service on the other hand was quite the opposite. There were 6 of us, we were seated and the waitress took all of our drink orders. When she returned with the drinks we all placed our order. Maybe 10 min later she came to the table with my nephew's appetizer, and he asked for a refill. We thought all of our appetizers would come to us at the same time. We waited almost 30 min and she came to tell us it would be a few more min. She left the 2 empty glasses and dirty app plates. We waited another 15 min or so and she came out with all the rest of the appetizers and all of our entrees. One of the entrees was made wrong so told her it was wrong and she took it back. The dirty dishes are still on the table at this point. She comes back with the new entree and walks away. We all went through the whole meal, was never asked if everything was ok, was never asked if anyone needed a refill or anything. My nephew ate his entire meal without having anything to drink. Right as everyone was finishing the waitress brought our checks and again walked away. We stopped another waitress to see if she could possibly remove some of the dishes from our table. We would go back as the food really was good and the environment was nice too. Just think the waitress we had might need a little more training in customer service. We might have spent more than the $120 we spent if the service was better. Never even got asked if any of us wanted dessert even with 2 kids...
