This isn't location specific. Just fair warning about home delivery of appliances.
I went in store and ordered a new clothes washing machine. It arrived no problem the day i scheduled delivery. The two delivery people brought it in my house no problem. Then they informed me since they were not installing it they couldn't even take it out of the box.
I would have gladly paid an extra fee or done whatever I had to do that they would take it out of the box and at least put it in place.
So now I spent another hour of my time getting the thing out of the box by myself, i have to dispose of all the packaging (there's a lot of it) and i had to get it in place. If I'd known i would have just picked it up from the store myself a week earlier. The whole point of having them deliver is was so they would at least take it out of the box.
I've ordered appliances from Lowe's and never had an issue with this. We will be due for a dryer, stove, and dishwasher in the next 6 months and I most certainly won't bother with the inconvenient disaster that is Home Depot home delivery.
I called the delivery hot line and they said that all sounded normal. Which is confusing because it says right on the website they take it out of the box and get rid of the packaging. I then called the store I purchased it from (the one I'm posting this review of) and i talked to a manager who seemed surprised and was very friendly but never...

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with the Washington Ave Home Depot was frustrating enough to warrant one. I’ve had consistently good service at the Central Ave location, so I expected something similar from Washington Ave. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
First, they completely messed up my product delivery. I ordered 16 pieces of lumber, and not only did they send the wrong materials, but some were broken or clearly rejected stock. What’s worse—they had to send the delivery driver FOUR times just to complete one order! That’s unacceptable.
Between the multiple failed deliveries, the wasted time waiting around, and the poor condition of the items, I ended up losing both time and money. At no point did anyone at the Washington Ave store take proper ownership of the mistake or offer a meaningful solution.
In contrast, every order I’ve placed through the Central Ave Home Depot has been smooth, on-time, and hassle-free. The difference in professionalism and efficiency between the two locations is night and day.
If you value your time, money, and sanity—go to the Central Ave store instead. Washington Ave needs serious improvement in customer service...
Read moreSo I had a dilemma with my new appliance and tried to do an exchange the next day. Everyone pretty much gave me the middle finger and said I’m out of luck.
After checking with the North Greenbush Home Depot location for “better customer service,” I tried the Washington Ave Ext site. I explained the situation to the manager and this time the customer to manager interaction was a complete 360 from the last location. He listened, acknowledged my concerns and came up with a solution. His name is Jeff, a customer experience manager and the way he was ready to solve this issue, he might as well have been my lawyer for the day. He knew my rights as a customer and was ready to get on the phone and speak with the manufacturer himself. THIS IS THE DEFINITION OF CUSTOMER SERVICE!
After a lengthy hold, we finally got the approval for my exchange. He made sure to get a name and also checked the computer for customer log updates on the manufacturer’s end. Not to be dramatic, but I was nearly in tears. It was a very long and stressful day, but to end it on that note was truly a victory. This is now my new Home Depot location that I will happily drive 20 mins to for all my purchases as a new homeowner....
