Maurices — Local services in City of Hornell

Don't shop here on a Saturday with all the young girls are working in the afternoon. Horrible experience this past Saturday June 4th. I stopped in to get a few things to wear for a catering event. Most of the girls that were working were more into chit chatting with each other and joking around than taking care of customers. As I got what I came in for and made my way to the register where there was only one girl checking people out and line of 4 people including me. As I stood there in line looking at things near the register not another employee came to help anyone cash out until what I assume as a regular customer as employees knew her by name, came over to the check out line and said "oh ewww this is the line to check out?! No thank you" mind you this line was 4 people deep including me. This regular customer went and got the employee who she was just chit chatting with to cash her out. This employee walks up to the other register with this customer and starts checking her out infront of everyone else who had been there waiting the employee and customer laugh when the customer said "thanks but there was no way I was waiting in that line" while looking at all of us standing there. The employee said no worries you don't have to wait and this employee and the other decided to talk to each other and not engage with any other customers and act like it was an inconvenience for us to be there to have them checking us out. I will no longer be shopping at this location even though it is the closest to my home. I will be driving the 45 minutes to the Geneseo location where customers aren't...

I visited The Hornell Maurice’s on 9/2/23 to get help from the Manager JD. She is always there and super Helpful, make’s shopping for my wife and kids easy and stress Free. I will usually come in and JD is quick to come right up to let us know what sales are going on and always eager to help! I’ll leave her to do the hard work with my kids or have her pick something nice for my wife. On this day When I visited the store I had to walk all the way to the registers before I saw anyone to help me, I asked this this young lady with blonde curly hair if Jd was working. And I was shocked and a little taken back at the young ladies response… She replied back with something like “ No She got Fired! And she is not here.” This was incredibly unfortunate and unprofessional to just blurt out and at the end of all this she did not offer me any assistance. I was so uncomfortable from her response. Friendly helpful manager's especially JD shes always been my go to person @ maurice.. She's got an eye for style and fashion shes she's honest about telling you if it doesn't look right or fit right I like that what woman wouldn't want that kinda of help especially if you have to wear it and spend money on it you want to be able to wear with confidence and look great.
