CROCHETERS BEWARE!

I bought a pattern for the packable sun hat at $16 (which is a lot for a hat pattern tbh) and it was probably the worst pattern experience I have ever had. The pattern is vague and seems to be missing steps. Some of the rows seem off, and the videos she provides for help are very quick short and poor quality, so they don't offer much help either. I tried reaching out to her a few times via email and was ignored. When I went to her social media pages with hopes of guidance, I found a video of her speaking ill of crocheters and about how she doesn't like making pattern and wants nothing to do with them. Like girl, why do you sell patterns then?! Judging on the "you're not allowed to sell the hats you make with this pattern" warning she gives, she seems to purposely sway the pattern so your finished products looks nothing like the ones she sells. I feel extremely deceived and am unable to make the hat I thought I was purchasing! My hat came out COMPLETELY different, and I have no way of ever knowing if it was a user error or pattern error because she does not want to communicate with the people she sells her...

I’ve never loved the experience of trying to find hats that fit my larger head, until meeting Olivia at North Ferry Hats and trying on her beautiful packable sun hats. Before North Ferry Hats, I started to like visors, even though they barely attach to my head. I mentioned how pretty the packable sun hats were, but that they wouldn’t fit, and my current collection shows how wrong I was and what I was missing out on in my before NFH (north ferry hats) times. The compliments I get when I wear these hats and the “interactions in the wild” with other part of the hat fam folks are so fun and positive, and the elevating of a look just from putting one one (or covering hair or your head, iykyk) and I can’t say enough about them.

I just received my latest hat from ELH last week. I have probably purchased 10 or more hats of varying styles over the years. My biggest problem with them, is family members keep stealing them. Olivia is a smart, kind business woman who takes pride in each hat created. I’ve reached out to her numerous times to ask about sizing, fit, styling, etc… I was hesitant to spend so much on a hat when I purchased my first. After receiving my Packable Sun Hat, I was hooked. I wear the sun hats hiking, sitting by the pool and on chilly days. It’s really an all season hat. I have also purchased several beanies which not only get worn by me, but by my husband and our 5 kids. Last week I received a satin lined hat that ELH recently started carrying.
