Iāve attended Cornell and frequented this store for over two years. On my last visit I was stopped by a middle aged white employee (i am brown) accused of taking merchandise into the restroom. After I clarified I had already purchased the T shirt I was taking in, the employee asked āWhat about the bag?ā Referring to my school bag in an aggressive tone. My Nike school bag was bright orange, has been used for over 2 years, and most importantly, wasnāt even sold at the store. It had multiple pins and a keychain identifying it as a personal item. This bag has never been sold at this store, Iām just a non white student going to the restroom. It is disappointing to face such racial based micro aggressions. I have otherwise only had good experiences at this store and most of the staff are extremely nice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy freshman son is moving in his dorm today and we had two packages to return to Dormco. I went to Robert Purcell Center to ship them. They told me they could accept pre-paid packages only. They recommended me to go the Cornell Store to ship my packages which would take a very long walk. They said it would be closed at 5pm. I arrived at Cornell Store a bit after 4:30pm and the lady at the shipping counter did not accept my packages. Apparently, she closed at 4:30pm. But their online store info says it is open until 5pm. Also, Robert Purcell Center said i could ship my packages until 5pm. After walking more than half an hour with two heavy boxes to the Cornell Store, I was not allowed to make a shipment. I explained my situation to the lady at the shipment center in Cornell Store but she...

If you have the time to walk over to Collegetown, though, you can get convenience store items much cheaper at 7-11, Cornell merchandise at a better price at Bear Necessities, and food that's tastier and has a better variety (but admittedly is not any cheaper) at CTB, all on the same block. For books, I guess it's basically your only option if you don't have time to buy online or used from students on campus. Having two local banks present, a mini post office, and a small built-in electronics store is pretty darn convenient, though, along with the ability to charge directly to department accounts if you're a Cornell employee making a...
