Fred's Firewood — Local services in City of New Rochelle

On Monday, January 15, 2018, I noticed that my woodpile has become totally depleted. Over the years, I’ve purchSed firewood from various garden centers and have often felt like I was getting ripped off! However since I can’t go into the woods and cut down my own trees and since I love sitting in front of our fireplace, I often accept the fact that it’s often a seller’s market. Well last Monday, I tried calling the places I had ordered from in the past, but either they were sold out of wood or had gone on vacations! I then googled Firewood in Westchedter and clicked on Fred’s Firewood. I was pleased to see it was s local business so I filled out my contact info on thier website and within 20 minutes recipes an email from Arianna who explained their pricing. I thought they seemed reasonable so I called. Arianna offered to deliver on Thursday, it would have been sooner but we expected inclement weather on Tuesday and Wednesday. For an additional small price they would stack the firewood where I wanted it. I thanked her but told Arianna that no one would be home at the time of the delivery and she said they’d bill me. I was very surprised that she didn’t insist on being paid in advtor on the day of the delivery and we had a deal. When I came home on that Thursday, I was stunned! The wood was stacked neatly, where I had hoped it would be placed and I realized seeing the volume of wood, that while I had paid for cords before, I never received this much wood! Just got my fireplace working a few weeks back. Never used it before after being here for 6 years. Was tired of buying wood at local gas stations Home Depot as it felt like it was getting too much. $8.99 for a bag of 7 pieces that would last 4 hours. Anywho, googled firewood in Westchester, came across Freds Firewood and actually seen his truck 2 days later and asked for prices. Decided to do it. Called on Saturday and got Fred even tho they are closed. Made a deal for a 1/2 cord Saturday afternoon, delivered Monday morning. Dumped it where I needed it, now it is all stacked and stored. Fred's Firewood is categorically the best, most honest, firewood supplier in Southern Westchester. I have bought cords of firewood for many years in Westchester. Not one single supplier ever provided me with an honest cord....until I found Fred's Firewood. I stack my wood the correct way...enough space to allow air circulation...but overall very tightly.
