I went there on Sunday. I had an item to return! To be exact, a $14.99 item that was purchased on Friday but unfortunately I couldnât find my receipt and went there hoping to get help. First off, I went with the item without a bag. Figured, I purchased the item and didnât bag it when I left the store so didnât see the issue. Big mistake. These people in this store, including the people of color (shame on those employees) targeted me and the lady assumed that I mustâve taken the item because she had to âcheck itâ to make sure it was coming from the store. The item came up in their system, but they were trying to have me return it for store credit of $12.99 instead of the $14.99 plus tax I paid! I figured, this employee doesnât know much so I asked for the manager. I specifically said manager. Why does the employee get the coordinator? Same story, and I said I understand but I paid $14.99 plus tax two days ago and now you want to give me less than what I paid just because I donât have my receipt? But, the sticker was intact and nothing indicate the item was purchased at âsale priceâ. I asked to speak with the manager. The manager was just standing there and he heard when I first asked for a manager from the employee. The managerâs name is Paul. He proceeded to come over and I attempted to explain the situation. His condescending response âwhat did my employees tell you? Thatâs what goes.â
Who in their right mind speaks to people like that in customer service field? I never spoke to this person/âmanager (Paul) in a disgusting way. I continue to explain while I understand the policy because I read it from Marshallâs website NOT PAULâs website. This is Marshallâs policy on the companyâs website:
âStandard Return Policy for Items Purchased in Stores
Our customers continue to be our top priority. If you're not satisfied with your purchase, return the merchandise accompanied by a register receipt within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or refund in the original form of tender. A 10-day period is required for a cash refund on check purchases. Returns with a receipt over 30 days, with a gift receipt or without a receipt will receive merchandise credit only. Merchandise credits are subject to the Terms and Conditions printed thereon and imposed by the issuer which may include restrictions on transfers.
A valid government issued photo ID, name, address, and signature are required for non-receipted returns and may be required for use of the resulting merchandise credit. Any name printed on the merchandise credit must match the name on the photo ID presented or the merchandise credit may not be used. A customer signature may also be required for receipted returns. To learn about how we use and handle your information, please see our Privacy Notice.â
Please note that it doesnât read anything about returns without receipt will be given credit at reduced price. Where is that Paul? No where.
The point is this manager was rude and not willing to put a customer as a priority. I refuse to return the item at that location and told them I would not return it. I took my item without the receipt to BETTER MANAGED MARSHALLS (Cross county) who did the same procedure expect they honor the price I paid! I was credited the correct amount. What did Paul teach me? Use the e-mail receipt option to avoid the condescending attitude of the Marshalls manager at this location by the name of PAUL & just shop else where. Paul, my eye rolling was meant for the stupidity that came...
Read moreIf I were permitted to assign a zero-star rating, I would do so without hesitation. My experience at this particular location has been by far the most unsatisfactory I have ever had. I am currently in the process of closing my Marshallâs credit card, which I acquired specifically for this store. The front-end managerâs behavior was extremely rude and inappropriate. She attempted to deceive customers by attempting to take their money. While I was purchasing items from the Marshallâs discount section, I noticed a dress that lacked a tag. Upon checking out, we discovered that there was no tag attached to the dress. The cashier sent another employee to inquire about the possibility of finding a matching tag. However, they were unable to locate any tags. Consequently, the employee selected any dress from the regular rack that was not part of the clearance section and returned to inform the cashier that there were no more dresses available. He proceeded to pick up any dress that was available. I informed the cashier that I had retrieved the dress from the clearance section, but it appeared to have no impact on their behavior. Subsequently, they called the manager, who attempted to deceive me by suggesting that I was not merely shopping in the childrenâs section. She attempted to charge me the price of a regular dress for a dress that was clearly on clearance. Furthermore, she attempted to fabricate a story that the manager of the childrenâs section had provided an employee with a tag for the dress I was purchasing. This claim was entirely false, as both employees were visibly confused and looked at the manager with apparent disbelief. In my opinion, this constitutes theft from a loyal customer. It is deeply disappointing to witness such a lack of integrity in the management of this store. Additionally, the managerâs behavior towards her employees, including her instructions to hurry up and her loudspeaker announcements, was equally unacceptable. Based on my extensive experience, I believe that the manager should be reconsidered for her position. I have never encountered such a distressing...
