Horrible customer service. The drain pump in my LG washer needed to be replaced so I made an appointment and had Tirrell’s out to my house last week. My washer and dryer are stacked in my laundry/half bath room and he told me that it would be around $80 or so for them to unstack the machines so he could repair the washer. He suggested I find someone to help unstack to save on labor and that way he wouldn’t have to bring another employee with him to help. He ordered the pump at a reasonable price and rescheduled for a few days later to install. Im a disabled veteran and was unable to find any friends/family to help unstack the machines due to work/family obligations etc. He again arrived alone while I was at work and told my wife that we had to unstack the washer/dryer ourselves and left saying he would be back in a couple days between 2-4 p.m. I called a day or so later and again told the female who answered the phone that I was unable to find anyone to help unstack the machines and I would gladly pay the labor fee to have Tirrell’s do this for me so I could get my washer up and running again. She told me that it wouldn’t be a problem and she would send two employees out for my appointment to unstack the machines and install the new pump. Fast forward to the day of the appointment and to my surprise Tirrell’s was a no call no show. I called and spoke to the same female at 3:30p.m. to inquire about my appointment and she said “let me call him to find out where he is” I said ok, and she never called back and he never arrived as scheduled. Treating people right should definitely not be your slogan as I was treated the exact opposite. He had zero interest in unstacking the washers from the start and should’ve been upfront about that and I would’ve hired another appliance repair shop that doesn’t treat customers/disabled...
Read moreWe had a good experience with Tirrell’s Appliance when we needed a repair to our washing machine.
We have a washing machine in a seasonal home. I have followed the winterization instructions from the manufacturer carefully for the last five years. Sometimes the manufacturer’s instructions worked but twice their instructions failed.
Three years ago the water inlet valve froze and cracked and the valve had to be replaced the next spring. That service technician (who was not from Tirrell’s) gave me advice on how to avoid the problem in the future. The advice was faulty; the valve froze and cracked again this past winter.
I called Tirrell’s Appliance a week ago. The service technician arrived promptly and replaced the valve quickly and at a reasonable cost. More importantly for me, however, he patiently explained how the valve worked, how the advice that I had received previously had been faulty, and how I could use a Shop Vac to suck the water out of inlet valve as part of the winterizing process.
It’s a shame that the manufacturer didn’t make that simple suggestion in their winterization instructions. I’m grateful that Tirrell’s service tech took the time to explain how to avoid the expense and the inconvenience of an avoidable repair in the future.
I am pleased with the service that I received...
Read moreWent to Tirrells in hopes that they could help me figure out what was wrong with my washer, especially since they specialize in washers and dryers, and received some of the worst customer service I have ever gotten. Brought in the old belt and asked if he could explain to me how you can tell if a belt needs replacing. He walked me through how to tell, which was quite helpful, but told me mine was fine and didn't need replacing. When I told him that my washer was squeaking smoking and smelled like burning rubber, he proceeded to tell me that is normal for a maytag washer. When I told him this was a new thing that began last night, he simply said well I don't know what to tell you, you can try to replace the belt but that sounds normal for a maytag. Smoke coming from a washer does not sound like a normal thing to me, and I wish he could have been more helpful instead of taking advantage of the fact that I don't know what I am doing. Thankfully a kind handyman posted a video on YouTube and it was a simple fix that didn't...
