Staying at the hotel where GS Steamers was located made the choice to eat here very easy. The smell was intriguing and menu seemed good. After a day off exploring the city my friends and I started waiting for a table..... And after an hour we checked and we're seated on the balcony that had a great view as the city came out of its day clothes to night. We placed our order and waited.... again... the wait for the salads was around 30 minutes, and a live band was playing making conversation a bit difficult. The music was fine and the atmosphere was good with people turning to watch the performance. The wait staff did ask a few times if there was anything else they could get while we waited around 45 minutes for the main course. The people were friendly and the food was very good when it arrived. The wait was really long. I had the chicken and pasta, one of their signature dishes and there was a little kick with the peppers, but the cream sause and healthy portion of chicken was very good. Just be ready to feel very full since youll be making sure to finish every laste bite. There is some cajun seasoning but it is not overly spicey. I was able to try the Marietta pasta with shrimp added, which was a bit soupy but tasted good. Be prepared to slurp with the dish and use the mini croissant to get a bit more of the broth. I imagine it would be a place that you could bring kids, but probably not on the deck with the live music........ Food is good, but be prepared to have a wait time. I believe there was a wedding party that actually cleared out, for the most part, while we waited. Staff was friendly and the portions were good, recommended if you...
Read moreThis experience was pretty solidly okay. Not great, not bad, just okay. The wait was very long, but I think that was just because they were understaffed so that can’t really be held against them. It wasn’t busy at all though so I can’t imagine what the wait would be if the place was packed. The food tasted good but wasn’t anything special. Not sure if the quality matched the price.
One thing I will say is the menu needed some clarification. My mom ordered the Steak Oscar. Direct quote from the menu: “filet mignon medallions, grilled asparagus, lobster meat, bernaise sauce & roasted garlic potatoes” The plate arrived and we searched for the lobster meat only to find small chunks in the sauce (which my mom had asked for on the side for dietary reasons). I realize this is a small detail, but for someone with dietary restrictions, details are important. If the menu had said there was a lobster bernaise sauce, it would have been much clearer.
All in all we probably won’t return but not because they did anything wrong. We just know there are better places out there. But if you need a place to go on a Sunday night when a bunch of other places are closed, it...
Read moreI am truly SPOILED by the service my daughter and myself received this weekend. While stopping by for a steak dinner for my daughter’s 12th birthday we were seated on the gorgeous outdoor river view deck. Our server Mariah made our experience so amazing we felt as though she took personal care of us and made sure we were fully satisfied beyond our expectations. She also came to show off the special limited dessert she had made for another customer so we know what we could look forward to. Not only did she remember every single aspect of our order (without writing a single thing, she just had it down) she checked on us multiple times making sure we had everything we needed as well as treating us to matching rings from their extras from an event, she presented us with a birthday treat and took mine and my daughters picture together with the sunset in the background a treasured memory I will always hold sacred. When I tell you we are still talking about this long after the meal this is an understatement. Mariah is a GEM and truly the sweetest and a perfect example of customer service. We will always cherish that night thank you so...
