I frequent Tops on Mineral Springs. The day before we had a blizzard (I didn't know about prior) I stopped in after work around Midnight. They had a meal deal going on where you buy one item and the other eight are free. The store was out of two of the items one being Italian bread. I took Tops brand bread instead for only .99 to the checkout and a cheap substitute for the other item I don't even remember. The main item I bought about 6 lbs of hamburger. The checkout girl called the manager who said no deal, no rain checks, no substitutions, come back in the morning. She then told me stay safe in the storm. I was outraged to know how little they think of their customers to inconvenience them that way when they know a blizzard is supposed to hit over .99 when I am already spending so much more. Plus it was their brands I chose! It's not my fault the store doesn't have what's advertised. What would they do for me the next day anyway if a blizzard was coming?!! I used to be a regular but haven't been back since and don't plan to. I can see why they are going out...
   Read moreTops has been on the down since the beginning of the pandemic. I hate shopping at Tops but today was the last straw and my family and I will never step foot into another Tops again. I will also recommend to every person I know to never step foot into one either. The lady at self checkout was extreme rude and had an attitude immediately. The register locked itself out and required assistance. She would look up and see it and keep walking around to wipe down other machines. Eventually I got sick of standing there so I walked up and asked if she can help me and she immediately had an attitude and she yelled at me over a bag of grapes that the plu code needed to be entered and not scanned. I told her I cant enter the plu code because the register was locked and she said that it's not locked but sure enough she had to go up to the register and manually override it. Based off of other reviews of this establishment I can see that it's a common occurrence and clearly management doesn't seem to care. Maybe they will care when all their customers are shopping at...
   Read moreI purchased a gift card this afternoon. Got home, realized it was never put into my ONE single bag at checkout by the cashier. Called 7 minutes after purchase to let them know I didn't receive it, but I still obviously have the receipt/activation receipt from 7 MINUTES prior. They stated there is nothing they can do. Gift card vendor will not void the card as I don't have the physical card BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER PLACED IN MY BAG AT CHECKOUT. Terrible customer service. This chain has been going downhill for years. Products and prices are high for the low quality you get anyways. I would highly recommend spending the extra $ at another store! Wegmans, Aldis, etc. Literally anywhere else. Beware of produce at this store (and most Tops locations honestly) as well-very often moldy under the surface within a day or two. Most locals know and try to avoid buying it from here unless...
