Absolutely awesome staff! Many fun booths with great toy and statue selections! Theme weekends and mini conventions! Meet favorite voice actors! Meet wrestlers! Meet actors and stuntman and women! Get your favorite toy custom painted by Scott at SO-RU studios (like my Dino riders T-Rex.) Heck get help with costumes and cosplay as some booths. Talk to people! Absolutely everybody has been friendly and willing to keep good conversation. All thatās required to belong here is to be nice, and have fun with others. well, and it is a given that we should all be using soap and deodorant for our daily hygiene, nudge nudge, wink, wink, fellow nerds. Everybody is fine with you just browsing through. But do yourself a favor and keep your card, Cash app, or pocket cash on hand. You never know what you will see that wonāt be waiting for you the following weekend. Iāve been coming since the first weeks of this wonderful place opening! Definitely look up their Facebook and their Instagram. Stay on top of events. Even if you havenāt planned to visit right away, you donāt want to miss some upcoming event that just may be right up your alley! For me, this is become more than a collection of stores. This is a place to visit friends and meet new ones. This is a place to get rest and recreation after a hard week, or to recover and regain flight after life clips your wings. Plenty of unique and tasty candies, snacks, and beverages in the vending area. Adjacent to all this, I recommend the great Afghan food next-door, and do yourself a favor, regardless of your religion and stop to the right of the entrance at the Halal store. Very friendly staff there and some great grocery items you may not expect. Who knows, maybe one day if you get hungry at Charlieās they just might make an arrangement with some food trucks! Anyways, come out and decompress here. I try to go at least every other week. Feels like something is missing if I donāt. So whether you are local to the Atlanta area or the state, or just a stranger, passing through, take some time aside and go here. I would love to see their continued success and growth. Who knows what this could lead to one day. So regardless of your fandom, itās nice to have something to go do that doesnāt require waiting a whole year for...
Ā Ā Ā Read morethe place is kind of like a nerd flea market and a convention hall bundled together. lots of different vendors occupy the space, selling everything from video games to retro toys to clothing, VHS tapes, board games, and more. most vendors tend to have a selection of figurines and trading cards for Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Magic the Gathering, Lorcana, One Piece, and other current popular card games as well as a few of the older dead CCGs. there's usually events going on every weekend where voice actors come in and give talks and autographs, or swap meets where locals will sell their collections and handmade art, jewelry, and various other crafted goods. the staff is really nice and helpful and they have a concession area stocked with lots of Japanese and nerd-themed candies and drinks. Definitely check out their events calendar and hours before going as they're only open like 2 or 3 days a week with fairly limited hours and the events can be cosplay competitions too so expect to occasionally see some of the sickest cosplays you'll encounter outside of DragonCon...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile Charlieās Collectibles put on an amazing show, I think the judging staff were a different story. There was a female judge with red/orange hair that seemed to target my son during day one and two with multiple deck checks on my son and it was proven that there was nothing wrong with his deck but every time she could do it she did. She also stayed on top of him constantly hovering and watching his matches with extra attention while not being or doing the same with other players. I watched one of the deck checks she did against my son and she went over my sons with a fine tooth comb so to speak while the other male judge just fanned his opponents deck and then put it back in his deck box. They then both proceeded to check my sonās deck out together piece by piece. This was very odd behavior by the judges when my son was involved. So next event I will make sure to watch their interaction and what they do with my son and record it because this again seemed to be a targeted attack and we were not happy in the end with this...
