Summit Tech - STC — Local services in Clarkston

Updated review: Daughter's old IPhone 11 seemed bricked yet would "buzz." We weren't sure of our options but tried Summit Tech on June 20 because of good ratings and it wasn't too far.

After some quick diagnostics, the tech claimed that a new screen was needed. We were skeptical because the phone has always been in an OtterBox case with a glass screen protector. But the tech showed us what he claimed was internal damage to the LCD. He installed a new display in about 10 minutes. Everything appeared to be working fine at the store and we were happy. He charged $97 for the new screen and installation. I was a little worried about the quality of an aftermarket replacement, which was a lot cheaper than OEM Apple. But it looked like it worked fine after replacement and it continued to work fine for a week and a half.

Unfortunately, exactly 10 days later and the phone is on the blink again: Strange vertical lines are appearing on the display and the outer portions of the screen are not reacting to touch.

In a positive note, upon return to the store with the receipt (and showing the display and case had not been damaged since our original visit), they replaced the display at no charge.

Of course, same brand of non-OEM display was used. After some research, seems we have between a 60% and 80% chance this one will work long term.

(It's working three days later but the phone gave a warning that it doesn't recognize the part)

Clearly, they use cheap replacement parts that do not meet OEM quality. Someone warned of this in a prior review but we did not heed the warning.

Find an Apple store... You get what...

I absolutely love this place, i had to fix my phone for work so on my break i came to Summit and Mohamed helped me as well as Moe. They fixed my Iphone15 PRO MAX screen within LITERALLY 10 minutes, they worked with me i told them i had go back to work as fast as i could and they definitely jumped on it soon as i walked in.... Thank you so much Mohamed and Moe i really appreciate you guys soooo much. Also they worked with me with the price and they MOST DEFINITELY have the best...
