This supermarket/farmers market came to the area at the right time with the right products. Although some of the cashiers seem poorly socialized, not greeting customers, talking to their co-workers instead of paying attention to customers, and leaving purchased items beyond the conveyor belt for customers to retrieve. Overall, the service is fairly good.
However, I have a major issue which I will let the public be the judge. On Sunday night (12/29/19), I arrived at the Stone Mountain store on Memorial Drive at 9: 41 p.m. to buy coconut milk to make rice and peas. My grand daughter and I got out my truck and headed toward the building only to be greeted by a security officer, dressed in full battle fatigues, shouting, " dey close" over and over again.
I continued walking toward the entrance to confirm the business hours written on the door, only to be stopped by the security officer who would not let me get within reading distance to ascertain any information regarding my fact-finding quest.
At that moment I informed him that I'm not afraid of his uniform and that any attempts made to intimidate me wont work.
He responded, " Dey close...and they have a right to refuse service to the public." I replied, "The business hours on the Google Maps shows the hours of operation, and closing time is 9:00 p.m."
The now irritated security officer says in an intense tone," Well you aint gettn' in tonight, cause they workers have to closeout the cash registers and if you come after 9:41 p.m. you not allowed in". I looked at my cellphone and then looked at him: It was 9:43 p.m. He said, " You come at this time of the night to do business...and the uniform has nothing to do with it, sir. Have a nice night." I came back with, "You have a nice week!" he said, " You have a Happy New Year"
I walked to my vehicle and drove away.
I don't have a problem with the security officer, he's was there doing as he was told by management.
The issue I have is, Nam Dae Mun should post the correct operation hours so that we all know. When I saw the few people who turned up believing that this place worked like other American businesses, following the published opening hours of operation, I had to put this information out there.
After all, who wants to be turned back from their favorite store...at night!
Naw, this is not normal. Come on Nam Dae Mun. Show some respect, at least, be truthful.
You be...
Read moreWent in here to pick up a few things about a month ago, but I forgot to get two of an item that I had one of in my cart, so I asked the cashier to ring up two and I told her would go back and get one more after the cashier rang me up, which she did. I then went back to the aisle and grabbed the additional item that I purchased, and headed out of the store. At the door, a loss prevention guy came up and accused me of swapping/stealing an item that I already purchased. I tried to explain the situation but there was a language barrier. He hauled me back inside to the customer service desk, where they went through my receipt and matched items to my cart. I didn’t swap anything, just grabbed the additional item that I purchased, just as I said that I had. The receipt confirmed this, but it also confirmed something else. They had charged me for THREE of the items that I only purchased two of (and was accused of stealing/swapping), so I caught them actually RIPPING ME OFF. I wouldn’t have known this but for their accusation that I stole something from them. They had to refund ME money. I guess I should be thankful that I caught them, but the whole experience was kind of embarrassing to be honest. Moral of the story: Don’t accuse someone of stealing when you’re the one who’s ripping your customers off. It looks bad, and when it happens, you should apologize to the customer, which they didn’t do. And always check your receipt before you leave. I learned this the hard way. Other than that, the selection and prices are good. This was the first bad experience I have had and I haven’t been back since, so we shall see how it goes in the future. I didn’t enjoy the experience but I like their great selection. A...
Read moreSuch an awful place to come. A few months ago, I came after school with my backpack that has my $2000 laptop and my expensive calculator so I had to carry it with me. They stopped me right at the front door and forced me to leave my belonging at their counter. They don't have closet or locker to lock it in so they wanted to leave my backpack right there on the walk way. What happen if someone walks by and open the zipper? Other people walk in with their backpack but nothing happened. What about me? Today my mom came after work and bought some vegetables for dinner. The cashier was busy chatting and laughing with the manager and did not pay attention to my mom when she gave the cashier money. She printed out a receipt, gave it to my mom. My mom then left and the cashier ran after my mom to her car, printed out another receipt saying that my mom did not pay and ask for the payment again. What kind of cashier that busy chatting with boys then ask the customer who already paid have to pay again.
The second thing is the environment. I promise that you can smell the death fish as soon as you walk in the market. And the dirty floor looks like they never clean it since they open it. I really want to take them off my local newspaper that I have to advertise about them every week. I feel bad for working at the newspaper to advertise to my people the wrong...
