I am very unhappy with my experience with JCPenney. I ordered a bathrobe online with a gift card I received in December 2021. I got a notice it was out of stock and since I used a gift card, I was only given the refund option of a check in the mail. By the way, why on earth do a check in the mail in 2022?? Anyhow, I never received the check in the mail so I called customer service and actually got a call back from a kind representative who gave me JCP rewards I could use in store or online. Then I purchased a pair of shoes online for pick up in store. I picked up my order at the store but didnāt open the sealed package until I got home. When I opened the package it was a completely different shoe, wrong brand, wrong size, wrong style and wrong color and definitely not the item listed on my order receipt. When I returned the shoes to the Greentree Mall JCP store the manager told me she could give me a credit for something else in the store but I had to use it that day. I was not in the mood to shop and ended up grabbing a handbag that I really donāt even use. Why did I have to get a replacement item that day, especially when the rewards I received were good for at least 2-3 weeks longer to begin with??? JC Penney used to be really nice stores, with nice styles for ALL ages, and prices to fit all budgets. They carried good quality clothes. But no more....... This store has priced itself out of business, at least my business, and I don't know who chooses or designs their clothes, but all I can say is š. Ugly styles, if you can find your department. Maybe it's high priced, junky chic? Clothes in disarray. And this was on a Thursday. Only a few people in the store. And this store needs a serious janatorial department. Last time I went in the fitting room, it had dirt and dust piled in the corners. No wonder JC Penney is closing stores. And that's sad, as it was one of the icons of retail, right along with Sears. For the next 10 days, when I checked the tracking it said that a ālabel was created but awaiting the package from the seller.ā I called customer service on July 22 and the CSR confirmed that he saw the same message. He told Me if I didnāt receive my order by July 29 I could call back and cancel. I called customer service back on July 26 and demanded to cancel my order and get a refund since I still hadnāt received the order. The CSR claimed she canceled, but said she couldnāt email me a confirmation AND it would take 7-10 days to see the refund on my credit card. NEVER AGAIN, JCPenny. I am done with you. Especially since there are so many other shopping options out there that will deliver within a few days, and sometimes...
