I have been a BAM customer for years as it is the closest books store to my home. I just had my last experience with them though. My fiancé wanted to get me the Harry Potter book series for Christmas. We went to the store, waited in line for about 30 minutes, only to get up to the register for them to tell us that it would be much cheaper to order it online. They said they could order it for us and have it sent to our apartment. It was a $30 difference (which in itself is ridiculous) so we went for it. My fiancé mentioned that we’ve had trouble with packages being stolen from our apartment and asked if they could have it shipped to the store instead. They said they absolutely could not do that. Again, it was a $30 difference, so we went ahead with the order anyway. The package was delivered while we were out of town and, you guessed it, it was stolen. My fiancé had an order from amazon delivered around the same time and they sent him a picture of it on our door mat in the hallway. My books were clearly in the picture. Everything was stolen. Amazon refunded his money for the other order, no problem. Books-a-Million said there was absolutely nothing they could do about it because it had been delivered. They were the ones who decided it was a good idea to leave a package in the hallway of an apartment building. No refund, no replacement, nothing. We won’t be spending our money...
Read moreI came in to purchase a book set on Monday, I saw the item listed for $5 cheaper online. When I went to the register the associate said that they couldn't honor the online price, but i could choose ship to store and purchase the item at the lower online price, which that is my first issue. If it's the same item from the same location that is used to fill the order it seems silly to not honor the online price. Then after I purchased it, the item did not appear as an order at the location I was standing in when I ordered it for over an hour. I had to leave before it showed up, so I returned early Thursday within the 72 hour window that the email I received stated they would hold it for. After waiting in the line, the associate said (incorrectly) that I had missed the 3 day window and that the item had been restocked and then purchased. I then received an email the following day saying that they had held the item for 96 hours and then restocked it. Read moreI loveeee books a million! I come here every single day! Just to get a coffee from Joe muggs which is inside of books a million. It is seriously the best coffee! It's better than Starbucks, Coffee Crossing, Heine Brothers, Krispy Kreme, McDonald's, and every other coffee place. No joke. Carmel frappe is my choice and it's excellent, made with real expresso, the best Carmel, etc. & I'm pretty sure it's their #1 seller as well. Their smoothies are so good as well, Mango taste amazing. I also shop around the book store & get things sometimes, they have some cool items, & since I work in the mall I get a small discount. Or you can become a B.A.M. member & gets discounts on everything. :) only 25$ for the whole year. I want to do that so I Can get discounts on the books. I used to go to Krispy Kreme everyday for 2years until they changed their frappe recipe &it tasted so much different and not good. So than I went on a search for a new coffee place.
