I took my wife and grandson to Texas Roadhouse so I could use my coupon for Veteran's Day, which Brian Lawless, Managing Partner gave me on Veteran's Day. I really appreciate Brian for caring for Veteran's. I know my fellow military guys appreciate Mr. Lawless also, because it has a lasting impression on us. We talk about Brian's generosity when we talk about Texas Roadhouse. So what are the odds that Danielle would be our server again and remember my wife and I from a year ago using my Veteran's meal voucher? I was with a Marine and wifey that day and Danielle remembered specific things about that visit. Wifey and I go other times also, but 2 years now, Danielle served us when I brought the Veteran's Day voucher. Danielle is one of the most pleasant servers anywhere and very attentive to details. She literally has a refill on the table before I ask for one. She gives the impression she likes to serve at Texas Roadhouse and makes us feel special. She makes perfect suggestions regarding the menu also. She is on top of her game. On to the food. I asked about peanuts when I arrived and received 2 bags at the Hostess station. We had called in ahead of time and were seated about 5 minutes after arrival. When we were seated we realized Danielle would be our server. Fantastic! The ambiance is VERY casual and homey. They no longer encourage throwing peanut shells on the floor, but rather give a bucket to put them in. ;) We started on the peanuts, ordered drinks and a Cactus Blossom, which was fabulous. The Raspberry Tea will cause you to leave barefooted, because it will knock your socks off. Wifey ordered blackened salmon. I told Danielle to UP the size so I could get a taste. Wifey and I liked it very much and would order it again. Wifey also ordered a Caesar salad and steakhouse fries which were both gooood. Grandson ordered an 8 oz Sirloin cooked medium rare with a bowl of chili and green beans. He was very satisfied with everything. I ordered a 6 oz sirloin cooked medium with, onions, mushrooms, Steakhouse fries and fresh vegetables that were all fine. The steaks were perfectly cooked and tender. We brought home half of the onion, half of the steak, a 3rd of salmon, some veggies and several rolls with butter. Its a good thing because my son and another grandson showed up a little hungry. They enjoyed the leftovers. We had a wonderful visit and look forward to our next one. It is hard to choose between the steak and salmon, so will probably order both again and naturally, start with a Cactus Blossom. Thank you again, Mr. Lawless for your great establishment, arguably the BEST restaurant in Southern Indiana. I hear MANY people make that claim and I agree. Food is well prepared and service is second to none, especially if blessed...
Read moreLet me preface by saying my review is in no way a reflection of our waiter Michael or Makena. Both of them were amazing. And made the experience better. The issue was the customer service when you first walk in with Mo. My family and I came here to get together in Indiana as we typically frequent the one in Louisville where we live. We were told that we had to have a mangers approval as it was 8 of us or we can sit at different tables in a rude tone. Than was told well if you want to check in you need to talk to the person standing next to us. This caused confusion as I was unsure on why she was talking to us if she couldn’t help us. I did as I was told and put our name down and both parties were called at the same time. We’re in different sides of the restaurant. Mekena sits our portion of the party down and there’s a table behind us empty. She states she can sit the remaining of the party there since it’s open. I sit with my children and she goes to get our party and the chaos continues with Mo. she basically refused to allow our family to sit in the empty table behind us because “it’s closed.” The table has a name on it as if they will sit someone. She tells another coworker that they aren’t going to sit there because they would need to wait to sit together. But there’s multiple open seats. She stating it as if we were on punishment in a condensing tone and she told us we couldn’t sit with our family. She tells the manager there is a seating issue that basically he needs to deal with. Instead of telling what’s actually happened. The manager Justin proceeds to tell us that area is closed. Remembering there is a name on the table we laugh at the excuse. He basically states that it’s not an option and than we sit separately. During this another guest leaves directly across from us and the manager is explaining to other employees what happened not knowing I was part of the party. I ask if it’s ok for our family to sit here and he states he has to check. Long story short we were able to sit together. And another family was sat directly behind us a few moments later.
Mo set the tone for the experience she is rude and she doesn’t have any type of customer care. I’m not sure if she was having a bad day or if she feels empowered by being able to sit people and it went to her head. And the other staff seem to be intimidated by her. Someone should probably have her take several seats in...
Read moreI want to first say that I have always loved Texas Roadhouse. That was not my experience this past Sunday. Everything was just off in the experience was not pleasant. I understand that You're not always going to get 100% when you dine out but this experience just left such a bad impression on me that I think it will be a while before I decided to go back in. A waitress was fine. Not happy with the server but that was ok. Our seating left a lot to be desired. We were seated where the orders were coming out to the tables and we were at a very small table. There was no room to hardly eat and we kept getting bumped into and servers taking orders opposite from us with their rears right on our table. That made it very uncomfortable to try to eat. But it was our food that I was most unhappy with and that's probably the most important part right? It took over a half hour after we ordered to get our salad. And it was very lacking from the last time that we had been there. It was very skimpy and not very much toppings or even greens. When I say a small salad I mean it was very small. It was the house salad by the way. Then when our main course came the first thing that I noticed was that The bacon on our loaded potatoes was burned. Very overcooked. My husband got the 16 oz sirloin and I got the 8 oz. He got medium rare which was mostly rare. I got medium well which was very very overcooked and very tough. I also noticed that the size of my steak looked considerably less than half of my husband's which made me think that I got a 6 oz instead of an 8 oz. My shrimp on a skewer was good except it was not as warm as it could have been. I felt like our order had been sitting for a while before they picked it up and brought it to us. We did not say anything to the server or even the manager as he passed and asked how our food was. But in our defense we had just got our food and hadn't had a chance to even taste it. We were too busy trying to make room for the plates on the tiny table. I do not like giving negative reviews. But this was not a pleasant experience at all. There's so much more but I'm just trying to review on our food. I have always loved Texas Roadhouse and it's always been our go-to for a good meal. We were both sorely disappointed and I think it will be a while...
