I came in 15 minutes prior to the store closing to grab a sum total of 12 bolts I needed for a project. Glen(I believe) greeted me at the door and made it expressly clear that the store closes VERY soon and I would need to hurry. I knew what I was there for, and where what I was looking for was located. Glen followed me around the store, asking if he could help me find anything/if I knew what I needed (in line with what I would call malicious compliance). After politely declining help and expressing that I knew what I was after, I was again reminded that the store closed VERY soon, and Glen walked off in a huff. As I collect my bolts, Glen re-appears with the same badgering demeanor, walks to the front of the store, locks the door, and watches me from the front door(roughly 8 minutes prior to close). I check out, and head to the door locked and guarded by a huffing Glen - as I leave, he watches me walk to my car (while shaking his head), as I now sit in my car writing this review.

This place has gone down hill. It’s always been waaaay too expensive but I made a comprise to support a local business. The staff there was always knowledgable and polite. I am a veteran and do ask for military discount at places where the prices are higher. They told me they didn’t months ago but offer a rewards program so I signed up. Got an email a month ago that a $10 gift card was coming in the mail and would arrive within 2 weeks which it did not. Went to go buy grass seed today and was told they couldn’t give me my reward discount because it had to be printed and the manager told me she couldn’t print a new one. I had three employees gathered around me and none of them had any inclination to honor the reward email I had pulled up to show them. They just stared at each other. I verified my address on file and it was correct. They told me to just wait and it may eventually come in as I’m standing there with over $100 of grass seed that needs to go down now on my day off. I got the feeling they could care less for my business and with their prices I sure don’t need anything from them. I walked and will go to one of several other near by cheaper stores. What a...

I must say i have driven past this store 1000s of times. I thought they catered more to "home builder's". I could not have had a better experience the past 5 times i have been there. As a wife, mother and woodworker i look for convenience. I love that it's not warehouse size and it's LOCAL... Prices are a little higher but that's ok if it means a better staff. I hate going to s big box store only to find unhappy staff who dont ir can't help you...On 1 occasion i had my very chatty 5 year old with me. The staff could not have been sweeter. They took time to answer all her questions. Which gave me a min to think about what i was after in the 1st place... My last trip in there i met Buddy Day who btw is just an awsome store manager. The very first time i stepped foot inside the door Roscoe greeted me and 2 of my little ones... He is a character i must say (he had me at hello).... I was surprised by the selection of tools and hardware.... My new FAVORITE STORE. PS They found and kept my daughters jojo...
