Edit at end They showed up when they were supposed to, and were very friendly. However, the employees that opened the pool offered to “throw some chemicals in there to help it out“…then slipped an extra $407.67 on the bill. I couldn’t do anything about it since they insisted on taking my credit card info before they even showed up. If they hadn’t been sneaky about the charge, I wouldn’t have really cared. Before they left, I was informed that I could go to the Sellersburg location to get a pool vacuum that they regularly loan out. However, when I arrived, I was told I must’ve been mistaken, since I’m flipping the house with the pool…implying that they might consider it otherwise. The worst part about the chemical charge was that the two employees that opened the pool let me know that I would likely need to have the liner replaced. I’ve checked with another company and I do in fact need that replaced. So, the chemicals were a total waste. Needless to say, will not be calling Backyard Staycations for a pool liner, or sending any business in the future. Someone from Sellersburg Backyard Staycations called me due to this review. They explained that there was a billing error and that I was overcharged for chemicals by $192.56. This amount as been refunded. Also, they offered the vacuum that the employee that opened pool said was a loaner due to the situation. This wasn't accepted since Southern Oasis Pools will be installing a...
Read moreDo not contract for pool maintenance with this company. We were billed over twice the agreed rate that we contracted them for on several occasions. The first time that over $1,200 was drawn out of our account when we were expecting to pay $600/month for pool maintence, we called them to discuss the unexpectedly large bill and were given some bunk excuses about needing chemicals because of lawn clippings being blown into the water and some made-up sounding water testing that we never asked them to perform. The $600 extra dollars for the month for chemicals and testing was a ludicrous sum. We maintained our pool ourselves for an entire season for less than the overage for one month under the maintenance contract with Backyard Staycations. We asked the service manager never to bill over the agreed-upon rate ever again, and to discuss future testing and chemical purchases with us prior to performing them so that we can approve or disapprove the costs only to be hit with another $1200 charged out of our account the very next month. We feel very taken advantage of, have been extremely displeased with the lack of communication, the rude responses when we've called, and the inability to adequately explain these extremely high prices that greatly exceeded the quoted prices. We're submitting a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and spreading the word wherever we can. Do not enter into a maintenance contract with Backyard...
Read moreBUYER BEWARE my wife went into BACKYARD STAYCATIONS and spoke to the same sales rep that I had previously spoke with about a pool vacuum. When I had went in I explained very clearly that we had algae in our pool and no other debri! We have zero trees no grass nothing around our pool and rarely get anything in the pool. What happened was we were gone on vacation for nearly 2 weeks and when we returned we had algae in the pool from the amount of rain/heat and lack of chlorine. Fast forward my wife was told that we needed the dolphin vacuum which is $600 and that it would clear our pool of the algae. She bought it brought it home we put it in the pool let it do its thing for hours and it clearly did NOTHING but stir the algae! Algae is to fine to be trapped in the filter and now speaking with the Manager or owner of the business he even agreed that the vacuum would only stir up the algae and that the cartridge would not trap any of the algae because it's to fine. So now they never explained a return policy to my wife and they will not return it so we are now stuck with a $600 vacuum that she was told would work but obviously does not! I will NEVER buy from this business again and each person reading this should consider going...
