Upon first impression of this complex, these are beautiful apartments. Although, it has some considerable downfalls that would make or break your investment. 1.) Price. The apartment I am currently in is the 660 Square foot with 1 bed and 1 bath. I currently pay a little close to $1,200.00 a month. This does not include pet pet fee, electric, or extra services. This apartment you will be charged for your water by square foot; (this means everybody’s water usage averaged out for the building is what you have to pay.) trash; and other additional fees and taxes. 2.) Quality worth your dollar? No, even though this is a newer facility there are some notable concerns. Such as, walls are very very easy to scuff; sink(s) and toilets will likely leak; air conditioning units will likely fail; and door hinges will be out of placement. You’d think this is normal wear and tear but these apartments are pretty new and with proper maintenance could be avoidable. 3.) Staff. Throughout the year I’ve been here we’ve had two sales leads and multiple forms of maintenance crew members. Turnover rate is something to consider as your relationship with staff could be short lived. 4.) Maintenance. There is a cell-phone number you can call if you were to have a Maintenance emergency or something that needs addressed which is reassuring. Although, you want something done keep reaching out.. My air conditioning unit had went out in summer earlier this year. Temperature was roughly 103-104 degrees and it was incredibly hot. My air conditioning was out for 2 nearly 3 weeks. They provided me with a out of window unit which was supposed to cool a certain amount of space to make the extreme heat tolerable. Unfortunately, it hardly put a dent in the temperature condition inside my apartment.. after informing them of this- there was nothing done. After some time the staff had finally ordered the part needed and replaced it- after 2 / 3 weeks time and ordered to pay only for my electric bill that the out of window unit had charged. Very disappointed and didn’t end up utilizing that offer because they never got around to credit me. 5.) Parking lot. The parking lot is ok but during winter times DO NOT make plans to leave the lot by car unless you have a vehicle capable of handing the intense weather conditions. They wait weeks after a snow fall to hire people to plow the parking lot to allow it to be drivable again. 6.) Dog park. Had some neighbors with dogs and would occasionally help them out and take their dog out to the dog park that way they can play and go to the restroom. The dog park have bag-towers to pick up the bowel movements- unfortunately, they are hardly stocked. Meaning there is feces absolutely everywhere.. maintaining the park is also an issue upon staff. Overgrown grass and dead weeds around and in majority of the park. 7.) Overviews. Throughout my time here at Heritage Square I’ve been very disappointed with how price, staff, quality, and quality of life are in these apartments. One good thing about this apartment complex is how close you are to the local police department and Jay C.. That is it. Thank you for taking the time to read this review if you have made it this far. Read more2025 UPDATE: We moved out in October 2024 and I feel it would be helpful for all potential residents if I gave an update. I have moved my review from a 5 Star to a 3 Star. I would go 3.5 if possible. Reasons for change: high price, few amenities, limited parking, lack of grounds upkeep, and lastly (and most importantly) don’t expect your deposit back.
Rent was going up for our 2bed/2.5bath townhome to $1,800 from $1,600 and we decided we could get a mortgage for that and have a yard. The dog park is not well kept and rarely are there doggie bags by the poop stations. If you have kids there isn’t a place for them to play outside here. Also if you have kids and ANYTHING gets on the walls (such as crayon) you won’t receive your deposit back. Our toddler colored on the walls in a few places and we tried to scrub it off but, they used such cheap flat paint that we couldn’t remove it without the paint also coming off. So for fear of making it worse, we decided to just leave it because we were told “they will repaint anyway.” We were floored when we only received $71 dollars back of our $1600 deposit because they had to hire professional painters for two walls that had crayon on them $990. We were good renters and never gave them any problems…it really felt like a slap in the face.
Overall, it’s a good place to live for many reasons especially if apartment living fits your lifestyle. But for the reasons mentioned above I felt I needed to amend my rating.
—————— We really love living at Heritage Square Apartments. They have both townhomes and apartments. Each have multiple bed/bath options. The units are brand new (built in 2022) and very spacious. We fell in love with the open concept of the kitchen/dinning/living room area. There is plenty of room for our little girl to run around and play. The campus is quiet and I don't hear my neighbors through the walls like at our old place. Onsite gym is open 24/7 too. One thing I would love to see them add is a small playground for the kids. I know my toddler would love it!
Access to Interstate 65 is fast. If you need to go to Louisville, you can be there in 25 minutes. Heritage Square is also close to the grocery, gas station, and several restaraunts. Rent is a bit on the high side but I think it's understandable for what this...
Read moreI am going to do my best at covering all bases on this review. Started leasing this apartment back in October of 2023. Management was wonderful (Adam), the apartment was fresh, new, and modern. Along with that it is safe, and feels safe. They also just recently introduced a community resource officer to help enforce rules, provide safety, and will contact law enforcement if needed. Aside from that I have zero complaints about the inside of my apartment. I have had to contact maintenance once and it was a breeze working with him. He answered in a timely manner and kept in touch with me until the job was complete. Shortly after leasing, Adam accepted a new position with FormG. Since then the property manager is ok. Hard to get ahold of, and doesn’t respond very timely. Rent is high but honestly worth it.
Outside of my apartment- cigarette butts everywhere. (I don’t mind if people smoke but throw your butts away) Pet stations are general always out of bags, in return no one picks up the dog sh**. The dumpster area is a mess 9/10 times. They try enforcing it but it doesn’t go far. Tenants just don’t care. It would probably help if they contracted valet trash in my opinion. The dog park would be nice if it had grass. They are actively (I believe) trying to fix this. People also speed in the parking lot so watch your children. We use the gym regularly (hardly ever see people in there too!)
Great community for school age kids- local parks, splash pads, pools, movie theater, and even Chillers right next door for ice cream.
Overall my only big cons really comes from the crappiness of other tenants.. which you will have at any apartment complex. I am moving to be closer to my hometown but if I wasn’t I would have definitely resigned my lease.
Hope this...
