I want to express that I have never once written a review for anything. I wanted to take the time to share with the public about this business. If you want fast service, something done quickly, then go to Mavis tires and breaks. Iâm sure they will move as fast as they can to get everything done. If you want speed, Mavis is the perfect place to go. Now if you want customer service and have clear communication on whatâs going on with your car, I highly suggest you take your vehicle somewhere else.
I understand the problem I had with my car was difficult to analyze and trouble shoot. It was a humming noise that was coming in the back of the car. You need to be at a specific speed to hear the humming noise more clearly in my car. Obviously, the faster you go the more you will hear the noise.
After Mavis analyzed my car, they gave me suggestions on what to do. I was fine with the suggestions, but I wanted to talk with the mechanics as to what was going on with my car. As soon as the mechanic came there was miscommunication with my car. The receptionist told me that we needed to change my wheel bearing and suspension system. But it turns out the mechanic was talking about my breaks and wheel bearings. Everyone makes mistakes and itâs ok.
I purchased what they suggested with their services, and I also did my own breaks with the car. What they suggested did not fix the issue. Iâm ok with the issue not being fixed, they gave me the necessary paperwork. The paperwork said what I should do next with my car, but I lost my trust with Mavis as soon as the receptionist stated they didnât know anything about cars. Iâm fine with the receptionist knowing nothing about cars.
What Iâm frustrated about is, if she doesnât know anything about cars then just let me talk to a mechanic. Give me the person that knows what they are doing. Why does it feel like the mechanics are hiding behind a glass wall? And if the mechanics are too busy to simply have a 5â10-minute discussion, then I can come back later to have that conversation. They said it themselves they donât hear the noise anymore. The humming noise is still there because I let 4 other people hear the noise. You still hear the noise once you reach a speed of 45mph and up.
Again, I would like to remind people if you want fast service, go to Mavis. They will take care of you, and they will probably do a good job, but remember all they care about is speed. If you want great troubleshooting or analyzing whatâs wrong with your car, I suggest going...
Read moreIâd been a loyal customer to Precision Tune until they decided to play in my daughterâs face. So I knew I needed to find a new repair shop, and fast when her car started shaking anytime she hit the brakes. Iâll admit, I was hesitant about trying Mavis because weâre new to the area, and I hadnât heard much about them. But I figured Iâd at least give them a shot. when I saw all the glowing reviews from folks in the community. Plus their $140 off brake service coupon didnât hurt either.
I understood what everyone was talking about from the moment I walked through the doors and met Ryan. He was genuinely friendly, knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. The technician let Ryan know that the brakes and rotors were actually in good shape after running a few tests, The real problem was that the front bearings had gone bad. And not only that, but one of them wasnât even OEM like the others due to a repair following an accident. That explained the clicking sound whenever my daughter made a right turn. My jaw hit the floor when Ryan shared how much it would cost to do the repair. I asked if he could apply any type of discount since my coupon wasnât applicable to the work. He said that he already had applied a discount as he revealed the actual cost of the repair without the $180 discount that he was giving me. Appreciating the honesty, transparency, and willingness to help Ia dad, our, I told him to please go ahead and complete the repair.
He originally said theyâd be done around 1:30, but when they realized a part had to be delivered, Ryan called me right on time to give me an update. Sure enough, the car was ready around 4:30, just like he said. Even though he had left for the day by the time we picked it up, everything was squared away. And just like that my daughterâs car is back to driving smooth and braking better than ever. Huge thanks to Ryan and the team for taking such good care of her and her ride. My wife and I will definitely be bringing our cars to Mavis from...
Read moreI had an amazing experience thanks to Mavis Tires and Brakes in Clayton (right by Walmart). I originally went to BJâs to make an appointment for two new tires and an alignment. The young man who looked at my car noticed that my two front tires were ripping so badly that he was genuinely worried for my safety. Even though he was about to close, he called his friend at Mavis to ask if they could squeeze me in. He even gave me his card (Jerzyâs Auto Repair) and told me to drive really slowâand offered to come get me if I had trouble. That level of care really meant a lot.
When I got to Mavis, I met Ryan and Slavic, and these two guys were fantastic. I needed two front tires, an alignment, and wiper blades. Since they had to break off my wheel locks to remove the tires (because I didnât have the key), they replaced them at no extra charge. They gave me discounts across the board and even offered the tire warranty at half price. On top of that, they checked my brakes and looked into another issue I had been dealing withâgoing above and beyond what I expected.
After everything, I drove 40 minutes home, and my car now feels safe and drives beautifully. Iâll definitely be coming back for two more tires and my brakes when the time comes. I highly recommend Ryan, Slavic, and the whole team at Mavis Tires and Brakes in Claytonâthey truly care about...
